Fascinating.
I wonder how they'll formally introduce the character.

Fans will want it to be different than the original series and that Macy's not forgotten about so quickly which won't happen I'm sure then.

Since Madeleine left under good terms, they won't be taking pot shots at her (and her character) like Kernus did after he fired Shannen.

They're hanging a lot on the assumption that a) Season 4 will be a ratings success and b) won't end up being the final season.
Even the original show took a major ratings hit after losing one of its leads, and this show has been struggling to stay afloat since Season 2. I've been reading around, and the response to Madeleine's exit has been overwhelmingly negative. Lots of people who had stuck with the show through thick-and-thin have said that they won't be returning for Season 4.
It feels very pointless to introduce a brand new major character like this in what will likely be the final season. Yes, show might see an unexpected ratings rebound and go on for 2-3 more seasons, but that is a huge if.π

I've seen a lot of YouTube comments about people not returning for season 4 because of Madeline leaving a few of them Macy and Harry fans who were invested in them so of course, they won't return after what's happened then.

Many thought that Season Four of the original show would be the last one (including Rose McGowan). Of course, it wasn't.
As to what will happen now, only time will tell.

Like was the Power of Three ever really used that much in here at all. Plus Mel and Maggie only have known Macy for three years. Why on earth will they accept yet another half sister. They should have went on without a new sister and hope they can bring Macy back for the last episode of S4. Since S4 is a mid season show it likely could be only 13 episodes. So why waste time on a new sister if the show might get cancelled in S4. It won't be as organic like the classic show as the reboot pulled the half sister card right away. They should have not made her a half sister from the start incase one of the stars left/quit but figured out a way to have her away from sisters.

Yeah. I can see them losing those fans. Sucks as Harry/Macy seem to be handled from what I can tell better than Piper/Leo and that couple is no more yet we suffered years of Piper/Leo crap. I wished Brian didn't sign his next contract and left for good after S5.

Sorry to say but I agree in some way about Brian leaving after season 5 which I commented on YouTube about a clip of Piper and Leo's wedding saying those two never should've gotten married because of the way Piper treated Leo later on especially after he gave up his powers for her and how Leo was portrayed as a Whitelighter in general around the sisters not putting his foot down enough, been objective enough or letting them get away with personal gain things for instance which Harry in season 1 and 2 of the reboot didn't allow of course.
Piper and Leo were better off apart whereas Harry and Macy were actually good together in terms of complementing one another, not letting their relationship getting in the way of their work, Harry treated as an equal and family friend by the sisters, and Macy not complaining all the time about wanting a normal life either which certain fans from the original series probably enjoyed then.

I can't see Macy (and her sisters) treating Harry the way Piper and her sisters treated Leo. Harry was a dear friend, while Leo became little more than a slave.
