***changed the title of this thread to reflect the news***
I'm sure that, at another message board we're all familiar with, they're popping the Champaign corks and toasting the demise of the "rip-off" (as they are prone to call it), as I write this. A lot of OG fans never took to the reboot, while others bailed out after the weak storylines of Season Two.
However, I am sad to see this show go, especially now, after it's really finding its feet. However, like a few other shows I know of, the changes came too late.
This forum will be moved to the Past section once the season officially ends.

I'm not surprised but I am sad for those who still watched and enjoyed it.

Seems I was the last hold out here. Happy that Matt came along, so I had someone to discuss the show with.
Ironically, this is one of the few CW shows offering us new episodes in this dry month of May.

We'll have to see how they close out the series. Will it be due to a big battle where the sisters die or like Forever Charmed originally with flash-forwards actually?
What would people want I wonder then?

Apparently the finale will not be a cliffhanger, as they saw the writing on the wall and knew that a chance for a renewal was iffy at best.
As to how they end things, we'll have to wait and see.

I don't know if you found the correlation, when you watched I did the first arc, of Season 3, with those demons in the charmed reboot, those random demons coming out from the certain world, and leaving symbols, a coincidence happen, because sol also had that for her legacy 1b, arc. so I talked to her about that, and she thought it was a crazy coincidence.

Part of the problem was that they kept changing the show runners. That threw a monkey wrench into consistent storyline planning.

Part of the problem was that they kept changing the show runners. That threw a monkey wrench into consistent storyline planning. Yeah, that doesn't help the show at all. Really, they killed the show from the start. I loved S1, but they threw too many storylines into one season. S1 should have just been about finding their mother's killer, building the bond between the three sisters and maybe introducing Charity and the Elders. S1 ending with Charity being banished. The Caines and the Sisters of Arcana plots being left for S2.

Many had this same issue with the show. And all those characters. It's not surprising that some got lost in the shuffle.
The sisters barely had time to acknowledge their new status, before they were thrown into a huge story arc.
That was another complaint, they went through the plots at warp speed. I kept saying SLOW DOWN!
One of the things the classic show did right was that Season One were mostly stand alone episodes. This gave the sisters time to adjust to being Charmed Ones, and such.

I do agree. Lots of crammed plots.

In Season One of the original show, the only arcs we got were Rex and Hannah (and those two characters I would go on to build a series around) and Rodriguez. And even they weren't the main focus of a few of the episodes there were in. Yes, the arc was acknowledged and built on, but most of those episodes had the sisters dealing with the villain or the week. For the most part, if you missed an episode, you would not be too far behind.
That's what the reboot did wrong, they should NOT have thrown the sisters into a huge story arc right out of the starting gate. Give Mel, Maggie, and Macy time to figure out their powers and such. Have them battle one off villains. Then, after a season or two, when the characters are fully established, that's when you start the story arcs.
And, when the first show runners were ousted, a lot of stuff, and character, got lost in the shuffle. In Season Two, the did this Faction storyline, which bombed big time (even I had a hard time following it all).
And, for some reason, they kept Parker, a character that NO ONE liked, around (although he hasn't been seen since S2, even though Abby carried over into S3).
All that did was alienate a lot of the fanbase. Most here turned their backs on the reboot at this point. Seems I was the last holdout, however, I stopped talking about the episodes when I realized I was just talking to myself. I only started again when Matt turned up.
In the current season, it seems that they were finally on track. We have a storyline that was well thought out (Kaela) and only one arc (the Unseen).
However, these changes came too late to save the show (and the regime change at the CW may have also played a role).
