SEASON PREMIERE AND NEW NIGHT - On the evening of Horseshoe Bay's annual Harvest Carnival, a whole new mystery unfolds for Nancy (Kennedy McMann) when the body of a mysterious young man is discovered on the Hudson carnival grounds. The Drew Crew (Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon) is drawn into the case by a host of confounding clues surrounding a new menace terrorizing the town - a killer who has an enigmatic connection to none other than Nancy's newest foil: Temperance Hudson (guest star Bo Martynowska). Also starring Scott Wolf, Maddison Jaizani and Riley Smith. Amanda Row directed the episode written by Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor (#301). Original airdate 10/8/2021.

Nice cameo from Penn & Teller (Penn was the guy interviewing Nancy at the start of the episode, while Teller was the guy operating the camera).

When Nancy went into that corn maze, I kept expecting her to bump into Randall Flagg (you have to be a Stephen King fan to get that reference).

So the serial killer is....that cat!?  At least that is what the episode seemed to be hinting.  Hope they don't drag this plotline out like they did the Tiffany Hudson one.

Temperance has made herself at home.  Loved how the Drew Crew more or less took it for granted that a 200 year old woman has moved into their town.  Of course, this is Horseshoe Bay.

So is that new FBI guy gonna a potential love interest?

Nancy got rejected by Columbia. Yeah, Nancy, we know you weren't going anywhere.   At least you got that job with the town council.

Poor Bess is having the most rotten luck at love.  Like how she had Ace bail her out when things started going south.

Loved the proposal from George to Ned.  Everyone took time out to help make it happen.

I think what I truly love about Ace and Nancy is the emotional intimacy between the two. Ace just knows when not to push, when to give Nancy her space, is always a open ear and shoulder for her. He just understands her, possibly as good and sometimes better then Carson.

And Nancy can allow herself to trust Ace with her vulnerability and know he would never take advantage of it.

They really wasted no time diving right into the mystery and feel. This season is going to be GREAT.

Harry Potter had something similar where certain Wizards were called Animagus's beings who could transform from human form into animal form and back again without the use of potion or spell.

Peter Pettigrew was a rat, Sirius Black a black dog named Padfoot, and Professor McGonagall a cat.

As I said, I hope they don't drag this storyline out too long.

Me too, hopefully it isn't dragged out too long. But, we'll have to wait and see.

Horseshoe Bay, where weird stuff is the norm.  Heck, if the killer is human, that's the unusual thing around there.
