3.08 The Burning of the Sorrows

Well, we got a glimpse of Temperance Hudson's past.  Seems she lost her daughter to the son of the woman who banished her.  And the end reveals that what is currently going on is part of a plan for Temperance to somehow get her daughter back.    The fact that this could have gone sideways, and even resulted in Temperance's own death shows what lengths she's willing to go through.

Agent Park is back, and he ends up with Nancy, Bess, and Temperance while all this is going on.  Poor guy tries to be an Agent Scully here, saying that there must be a scientific explanation for all this.  In the end, even he has to realize that, in Horseshoe Bay, sometimes science doesn't have all the answers. 

Meanwhile, Ace and Ryan deal with a ghost who is haunting the Historical Building.   Just who this ghost is, it doesn't say.  The episode ends as Ace is starting to figure that out.

And we see where Nick went, when a girl from his past shows up.  She tells him that she believes she killed someone and asks for his help.   Liked how George was suspicious.  Well, this girl comes out of nowhere and seems to know he fiance.  Can't blame George here.

Loved Agent Park's  origin story: beautifully written, beautifully portrayed. That reveal of "she was six years old" was emotional.

I really liked the interaction between Ace and Ryan. Ace's personal growth, with how he feels about Ryan's "freeloading" situation was well acted. Also Ace's thoughtfulness in keeping what they're going through from Nancy, because "she's going through something", was nice. This show really does so well in these quiet character development moments, in the midst of the chaos.

I'm looking forward to Bess' reaction when she finds out not only was her historical society hook-up watched, but there was a supernatural entity present and active  too.

I remember how embarrassed Bess was when they stumbled upon that video.  And now a ghost might have been watching as well.
