Mister King did a lot of TV movies before he became the star of the Riptide - and many more afterwards.
My start was here Foster and Laurie from 1975!! Cast: Dorian Harewood - Gregory Foster Perry King - Rocco Laurie As a support character was there also James Woods who played with Perry King again in "The Choirboys" (which I have in German). Storyline (from IMDB): The story of two N.Y. police officers, one white and one black, their ambush and murder by black revolutionaries and the efforts to hunt down and capture their killers. Clearly based on a true story. We start practically with the murder and with flashbacks we are told how the cops met and later became friends. As it turned out, both were Vietnam veterans and that helped clearly. Their wives were not happy about it but had to accept it. You can see that Perry King can play a lot of characters. Some pics again: - the real ones I haven't decided yet which movie I watch tonight but for one, I'd have to contact my friend from TrueTVmovies again. My only source so far!

Today I watched Inmates: A love Story from 1981. Cast: Kate Jackson - Jane Mount Perry King - Roy Matson and a special appearance by Tony Curtis as Flanagan Story: Roy, an accountant, lands in prison, because he kept their books clean. He's hoping to get out quick, yet gets beaten up there the first night. Right then he meets Flanagan and Jane. He is well known in the prison whereas she keeps a tough image. At first working in the kitchen, Roy and Jane meet again, because she keeps cleaning up the garbage. As the director of the prison finds out what Roy has been doing before, she asks him to do the same for her prison. Soon, he realizes what is going on and wants to get out - by all means. And with time, he also comes closer to Jane and starts a relationship with her. But Jane gets beaten up and is back to her old self. As she cleans out the director's garbage, she notices that Roy was telling the truth and saves him from a set up by the director. Roy comes free and promises to return. After a long time, he finally comes to Jane - with her daughter, making her cry. Some pics again: Enjoy! Tomorrow then some "action" movie again. Also enough to choose from.

Okay, okay. I'll see what I can do regarding this movie. EDIT: What do you think of these two movies so far?
As said before, 20 movies to choose from at the moment and I decide for the best at the moment.

I recognized Kate Jackson from Charlie's Angel's. Didn't know she did films as well.

But she also did another series in the 1980ies. "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" - that was my main source of her knowing. Later on came Charlie's Angels.
Anyway, tonight another movie with Vietnam background. Search and Destroy from 1979. Cast: Perry King - Kip Moore Don Stroud - Buddy Grant Tisa Farrow - Kate Barthel George Kennedy - Anthony Fusqua Story: We start with Vietnam 1968 where an army unit of four is forced to leave their Vietnamese political officer behind. Ten years later, near the Niagara Falls, this man starts his revenge on this unit by killing one by one. Buddy and Kip are the two last and well, a ride at Niagara Falls with some shooting and martial arts leaves only Kip behind, because Buddy seems to be paralyzed from the last fight, lying in the hospital. The police asks Kip and his girl, yet even offers protection but fails in the end. Again, Kip turns to Buddy's home and pulls out the weapon and some munition. Near the Niagara Falls the showdown happens and only one survives. Some pics: I'll stop now. As you may notice, the Vietnam background seems to play a constant role in Perry King's career. Can't say yet if I manage a movie tomorrow. Otherwise, on the weekend two then!!

I was gonna say perhaps he'd been in the military at one point or had relatives who fought in some of the wars then. However, I don't think that's the case it seems.

I don't think so. His Wikipedia page makes no mention of it.

Yep. He could have been drafted, yet acting stepped in. Strangely that this seemed to be a constant.

Here we go again. Got to watch the movie I wanted but I noticed some minor problems with the tone, yet it's okay. Today I watched A Different Story from 1978. Cast: Perry King - Albert Walreavens Meg Foster - Stella Cooke and many more Story: A young man from Belgium comes into the USA with the help of rich man. Albert is gay and a boy for everything for his men. Stella, on the other hand, works as a real-estate woman with several lesbian lovers. It's getting complicated when she takes him in after being found lost in a house. Well, Albert becomes her housekeeper and cook when Stella works. With time, and a parents' visit, love slowly grows and to save Albert from being deported, Stella marries him. After a lovely birthday party, Albert and Stella do more and she becomes pregnant. Some time later, Albert Jr. is born and now Albert's career starts as a tailor. The marriage gets difficult, and she's at home waiting for him. Well, after some trouble at work, Stella finds out he's cheating on her, Albert quits his job and tries to mend the relationship. With some difficulty they are back together in the end. Some pics again: I'll stop again before it became too much pics. Though at the end, I felt reminded of "Cody Allen". Sorry! Tomorrow then some action again!
