So, today the start of a new/old series and its Spin-off which only lasted a season. Never mind that. Main cast: Johnny Depp - Officer Tom Hanson Holly Robinson - Officer Judy Hoffs Peter DeLuise - Officer Doug Penhall Dustin Nguyen - Officer Harry Truman Ioki Michael Bendetti - Officer Anthony 'Mac' McCann Steven Williams - Captain Adam Fuller Frederic Forrest - Captain Richard Jenko and many more Story: 21 Jump Street is the headquarters for a squad of police officers who specialize in investigations relating to young people. Each of the Jump St. personnel was selected for their ability to pass for high school or college students, allowing them to operate undercover in areas where it is difficult for regular police officers to blend in unnoticed. (taken from IMDB) Pilot: Two young, black criminals break into the house of a middle class family. They threaten to kill the son, Kenny, who they say owes them 6.000 dollars. They steal the Jaguar outside and go away. When the police arrive, Kenny refuses to give any information about the intruders. One of the policemen is 21 year old Tom Hanson, who has just graduated from the Police Academy as the top of his class. His first days at work aren't successful. Tom looks too juvenile to bring about respect, and his impulsivity causes trouble for his colleagues. He is relocated to a special unit called Jump Street Chapel. This is an undercover unit, focused on serious crimes among teenagers. The looks of his new colleagues shock him. The police officers Doug Penhall, Harry Truman Ioki and Judy Hoffs look, behave and talk like teenagers, and their chief, Captain Richard Jenko, looks like an old hippie. Tom has to undergo the same transformation. He is given the false identity of Tom Bauer, and sent to Amherst High, where also the two black criminals and Kenny are students. Now he has the chance to solve the case, with which he got nowhere as an ordinary policeman. (taken from IMDB) Guest stars: Brandon Douglas - Kenny Claude Earl Jones - Principal Jake Shaffer Barney Martin - Charlie Donegan and others Some pictures: I'll leave it here with the pics. And once again, a Stephen J. Cannell productions.

That's quite true. Anyway, we're dealing here with 124 episodes in total (Spin-off included) but I haven't checked yet if there are some missing. It comes with each season, I think. Episode 2 "America, what a town" The teenagers Stevie Delano and Mark Dorian are studying to become car mechanics. They dream of an auto shop of their own. There is one for sale, but it costs a lot of money. To finance it they participate in criminal activities led by Mario Delano, a relative to Stevie. They steal cars, bring them by night to their school's auto shop, where they dismantle the cars and take away all parts of them except the coachworks, which they sell on auctions to Mario, who rebuilds the cars. At the street where one of the cars was stolen the police find a screwdriver marked NHS. This means that it belongs to the Northside High School Auto Shop. Police officer Tom Hanson is commissioned to begin as a new student at the auto shop, where he starts untangling the criminal network. At the same time police officer Judy Hoffs is commissioned to shield the Polish student Nadia Massing, who is in America for some weeks on an exchange program. Free from the communist confinement she starts an excessive shopping spree and dating one boy after another. (taken from IMDB) Well, in the USA it was aired before the wall came down. In Germany after it. lol Strange way to watch this now again. Poland had it harder back then as we did in the GDR, even though there was Solidarnosc and all. Some pictures: And don't be surprised: It was filmed in Vancouver, most of the time.

And another episode today. Episode 3 "Don't pet the teacher" Hanson goes undercover at a school where a secret guy gives roses to a teacher and steals important things. At first they think it's a strange guy with rich parents but he's only interested in making his dead brother proud. He can't forget Cambodia. Harry meanwhile is learning to be sergeant but when he comes to his oral test, he flips out at his tester. Not good. At Tom's school, it turns out to be janitor who lost all his self confidence long ago and well, he still fails - and lands in jail. Tom at least then asks the teacher for a date. lol Some pics: I'll leave it here and it goes on tomorrow!

Of course, most today probably know Johnny Depp through the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.

And another episode. This time with some guest stars who are worth to be mentioned. Episode 4 "My Future's so Bright, I gotta wear Shades" Three young men and a woman are drunk and drive to a boat. However, in the morning when the paper boy comes, throwing out the papers, he sees the body of the young woman and as it turns out she's dead. By request of the Captain, Hanson and Penhall go undercover at the elite school where they come into class of the three men. Soon, at least Doug is asked to join their 'fun' club and this goes with dealing with cocaine and more. They even have a dealer who comes to them all the time. Hoffs, meanwhile, questions the family and the victim's brother is not happy with the results the police is providing. Their dealer then gets arrested for another crime but they can't convince him yet to speak. So, Hanson and Penhall pay another visit to the three guys, this time as cops and well, one of them betrays them by going to the police. At the end, the victim's brother has a different idea to show the man his 'justice'. Guest stars: Josh Brolin as Taylor Rolator John D'Aquino as Vinny Morgan (seaquest DSV, anyone?) David Oliver as Kerry Graham Mitchell Anderson as Scott Crowe Some pics: I'll leave it here but they are not in the right order. And it goes on tomorrow!!

Johnny Depp looks so young here.
Like Tim, I knew him from films before finding out he'd made an 80's television series.
Of course, Johnny at the time of filming Jump Street was also trying to make it as a musician but took up acting overall. This wasn't something he intended to do it was to pay the bills like everyone else. Johnny didn't think he'd go far that way career-wise but history proved different especially concerning Pirates Of The Caribbean.
Johnny still continued music in the meantime and formed his own band which people know about.
Just last week he played a gig with Jeff Beck at the Royal Albert Hall after the trial verdict because he's currently touring the UK himself.

Thanks. Back on track here - after the lost day yesterday. lol Episode 6 "Gotta finish the Riff" Well, Captain Jenko is dead and Captain Fuller replaces him. Immediately there are some changes within the Jump Street programme. More people around, and Fuller sends Hoffs and Hanson undercover to a school where a gang rules but without their leader and the principal needs protecting what he doesn't want. However, the gang's leader, Reggie Brooks, returns and takes the principal, along with the whole school hostage. Unfortunately, Hanson's cover is blown up immediately whereas Hoofs can still pretend but she is forced to Reggie who likes beautiful women. Outside, Fuller and Buckley, along with Penhall and Ioki, try to negotiate with the man which is not easy when Reggie can't make up his mind. Well, after ordering a lot of pizza which Penhall brings and insists to get his money, he's also taken in. Ioki then falls in through the roof - and the situation grows slowly out of hand. Reggie then wants a black TransAm and Fuller delivers it. Reggie goes out, leaving his guys behind but taking Hoffs with him, driving away then when the boys fight back the others of the gang. Fuller and the boys then follow the car where Hoffs meanwhile has taken care of Reggie. All good in the end. Two guest stars: Blair Underwood as Reggie Brooks Robert Picardo as Ralph Buckley (with hair!) Some pics: Not in the right order but that's okay! Goes on tomorrow!

That's okay. The series is long enough. A day or two lost doesn't matter. Episode 7 "Bad Influence" Two young boys observe how a gang tries to get money from a ATM but they fail. However, the money is available and so the boys take and enjoy their lives. At the Jump Street HQ, Fuller puts Penhall and Hanson on this case and they have a long chase ahead of them. Meanwhile, Hoffs and Ioki go to a school where a student should sell herself to prositute. As it turns out, she does this for her mother, to get her away from drugs but she uses the codes given to her for a thief who steals later the expensive equipment. With the help of the student, Hoffs and Ioki can arrest the man, yet the female student has left the city. Hanson and Penhall finally find the young thefts but even their parents want to make money from their story. That's America for you! Some pics: I can't find more right now. But it goes on tomorrow. After catching up with S&L finally!

New day, new episode. Episode 8 "Blindsided" Hanson and Penhall are undercover as the McQuaid brothers at a school to find some drug dealers. Tom decides to speed up the process which goes well with Fuller but Doug has to play a lone round later and is brought to the principal. Doesn't look good and he's got suspended for two weeks. Meanwhile, Tom is approached by Diane Nelson who wants to pay him to get her father killed. After some research, they find out that Diane's father is also a cop but he's abused his eldest daughter. Fuller calls in some favors but as Tom wants to arrest Diane, he unintentionally shoots her father. Yet he survives and Tom even gets his badge and weapon back. Diane is speaking with some therapists and still takes care of her sister. And as the McQuaids appear a last time in school, they arrest the drug dealers and reveal themselves as cops. lol Two guest stars: Sherilyn Fenn - Diane Nelson (Twin Peaks?) Don S. Davis - Principal (with more hair still, Stargate SG1) Some pics: Might not to be the right order! And it goes on tomorrow.
