Congratulations to the Lionesses (English Women's Football Team) on beating Germany 2-1 at the Euro 2022 final at Wembley Stadium then. (Sorry Jana).
Being the first major trophy we've won since the men with the world cup 1966 it was a long time coming.
The girls did themselves proud and the UK also so well done there.
As the song goes. "It's coming home, it's coming home, it's coming footballs coming home." and it certainly did then. Whoop!

That's okay. We can't have all, yet it seems that our fans are also interested in the women's football more.

For us, it is yes because women's football isn't talked about much in the UK. It's normally the men's so their winning is good exposure for their sport obviously.
I'm sure this will inspire lots of young girls to take up the sport in the meantime then.

Thanks, Tim. This thread will also give us other sporting events to talk about as well.

Congratulations on Argentina winning the World Cup, where I live there’s a lot of South American immigrants and they’re ecstatic.

I didn't see the match but heard Argentina won on penalties 4-1 over France.
Thought the final would be between those two countries.
The Euros are next in 2 years.
I hope England keeps Gareth Southgate on as manager because despite us getting knocked out in the quarter-finals he's done a lot for the club in terms of where we've positioned ourselves in recent years.
Gareth knows the game inside out having played for England himself and is passionate about the sport also and so should stay on especially if we get to the finals of the Euros again of course.

Congrats to Argentina. Yeah, it'll be interesting with the Euros in two years time.

Gareth Southgate will stay on as England's manager it seems which I'm pleased about.
Am glad the club didn't use him as a scapegoat for the UK not getting past the quarter-finals.
