If Charles is anything like his mother, he could reign for 20 years or more.
I wish him well. As I said, he's got some pretty big shoes to fill.
We wish him well. If he is in good health. He'll have at least a 20-25 year regin. He's 73 currently. Although I read comments online that so many don't like Charles, and would've prefered William just to be King now. Well, they'll have to wait another few decades for that won't they. LOL

People need to give Charles a chance.

We're getting a public holiday on Thursday September 22nd in Australia as a one-off public holiday on the national day of mourning for Queen Elizabeth II later this month.
I wonder if any other commonwealth countries are doing the same.

When the proclamation ceremony happened at St James's Palace yesterday morning it was noted that the day of the Queen's funeral would be a public holiday in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland of course.
I suspect schools and businesses will be closed for the day although that hasn't been confirmed yet for people to watch the funeral and mourn the Queen as well meaning I wouldn't work then.

I wonder if all Commonwealth countries will get a bank holiday on the day of the queen's funeral like the UK?
Her coffin made the 6-hour journey from Balmoral to Holyrood Palace where it'll lie in state for 4 days.
People lined Scottish streets to pay their respects.
And the proclamations in the other dissolved nations were made also today which I mentioned this morning.
Prince William and Harry were seen walking and talking together with Meghan and Catherine on either side of them.
Folks hope the rift they have between one another can mended then.

The YMCA at Romford will be closed next Monday for the Queen's funeral save the catering department cooking for the residents who live there of course so the whole of Children's Services across our offsites as well will have the day off and reopen Tuesday subsequent.
Her majesty's coffin will fly down from Scotland to England later and head to Buckingham Palace before being placed in Westminster Hall to lay in state for 4 days till the funeral.
Many people are expected to line up and view with queues predicted as far back as Tate Modern art gallery down the Southbank of course.
Officials are asking no elderly or pre-school children to come because the wait time will be longer than 5 hours in Edinburgh for just a few seconds glance overall.

The Queen's coffin will leave Buckingham Palace around 2:22 this afternoon and make it's way on a gun-drawn carriage to Westminster Hall where guards will watch over that till the funeral on Monday of course.
Queues have already started forming around Lambeth Bridge with people having camped out overnight actually. 400,0000 people are expected to pay their respects today when the line starts moving after 5 pm.
Each section of the route estimated to end at Southwark Park will have different colored wristbands so folks can opt out and back in to get food/drink and use toilets also. Food proprietors are been asked to stay open longer and the tube will run 24/7 to help people get to London and see the Queen themselves.
The waiting line estimated could be in between 10 to 30 hours hence the reason officials don't want the elderly, babies, or toddlers coming is because there won't be any time to sit down along the way overall.

At the minute the queues stretch up to Blackfriars Bridge but may clamber back further when more people join in.
Some folks on YouTube and social media don't understand why citizens would wait 10/30 hours to see a coffin that could be empty for all they know and if not only get a few glancing seconds to look at it before being moved along by officials when 24/7 news coverage is a cheaper option overall.
Blacklash from that has been about antiroyalists not showing respect for a woman who served their country 70 years which people waiting in line and seeing her are honoring of course.
I don't get into those sorts of arguments because I neither have the time nor patience to do so but also work myself and so wouldn't have time to visit myself.
Portaloos have been set up around Westminster for people to use which is good with more likely to be installed temporarily along the way hopefully.
