Does your bank matt allow you to have a virtual card that can be used only one time for online purchases? I know some people use this to avoid scams and was wondering if something like that or a pre-paid card could be used for the transfer of money to sort out your negative problem perhaps? The only reason I mention this is that it could be a way for them to not get your money but then you may have to give your name and email to do that possibly. One other option is either creating a new email address or a one-time-only address instead. Thanks so much. I will look into this. That might just be a really good thing to consider.

Indeed.
Best to keep all your bases covered.

I know of about 2 or 3 UK banks that offer virtual cards as an option for example Revolut that can be used in other countries too. www.revolut.com/This online bank does one-time virtual cards or reusable ones which can be deleted and new ones added as and when needed. You can use the card abroad without paying interest as well then.

Decided to take a mental day away from it all. Been draining me greatly and will treat myself to a movie at the cinema to get away from it all.

UPDATE: Well good news. I've gotten it sorted or on the road to having a solution. I'm on a payment plan to pay off the debt and negative balance every fornight. Thanks to Melinda Halliwell, for her suggestions and help the virtual cards work. I paid a small payment of $50 on December 26th, and it cleared within five days and my Paypal account had it listed on the 3rd as processed. My paypal negative balance has gone down $50. So I know now that the payments are slowly clearing that negative balance down. So it should be paid off within two months. But I'm tempted to close the Paypal account down once I get that negative balance/debt cleared.

Whenever I get a robocall allegedly from my bank, credit card, or Amazon, I just hang up. I know it's a scam.

In that case, my phone or my provider reacts well. Already sorted out and if there's one, it's signed RED immediately. I also turn them off.

I'm glad that the virtual cards helped matt . Hopefully, you'll clear your debt soon. Like Tim said if I pick up the phone and hear a robot or digital person talking I will hang up and put the phone down now after learning from my scam of course. The only time I have since replied to a digital person is from BT because people can call that from their landline phone and send a voice text message to our main phone which a couple of my relatives did this Christmas then.

So happy it helped matt what Melinda Halliwell. Yeah, I avoid those calls. The bank NEVER calls you. They typically want you to call them, or send you a letter telling you to call. I typically do all my banking in person. If there's an issue, I head into the branch, much safer and I trust in person than over the phone.
