Is the super hero craze over?

Sucks for Henry, but not too bad for him. He's already booked his next big gig already.

We have Tyler's Superman. I'll be fine. As for rebooting Superman, why. Anyways I'm looking forward to Tyler's Superman returning.

Yeah, Henry will be fine.

He sure will. He's going to executive produce a new series based on a game he grew up loving as a child. He'll be fine.

[Tim]

These things go in phases. There was a time that you couldn't turn around without seeing Harry Potter and Co. Then, in the wake of Twilight, came vampires. After that, super heroes, in movies and on television.

But now...

The box office is bombing, television shows have been cancelled, or are ending.  Looks to me that the super hero fad is over.

We'll see if James Gunn reboot Superhero universe kicking off in 2025 with the new Superman is a success.

Indeed.

That's like young children with toys. One minute they like this and the next it is something else which isn't great for the parents who spent a lot buying these toys for birthday or Christmas.

Video or mobile games are the same I find as well in terms of on and off-the-trend things then.

They should retire super heroes for ten years or so, IMO.

Clearly not over, since they seem very eager to create a new superhero universe in the movies. Supergirl is getting her own solo film after Superman Legacy I hear.

It's sad that because of this, we ain't getting any new television shows. Sounds like once Superman and Lois ends, its curtains for any DC show on television for a while.

I wish it was. Meanwhile I have enough and well, I retreat to older versions (and shows). *sighs*

The box office is bombing.  Clearly folks are done with super hero movies.

Why can't the WB see that?

I don't know and as I've said before if this new film tanks fans will just revisit old Supermen and butcher the new one on social media which they shouldn't do of course.

Remember when vampires were all the rage.  Then folks got bored of them.

Same thing applies here.

Well, that's the thing about fandoms some endure for many years like Star Wars, Star Trek, Harry Potter, Doctor Who and LOTR whilst others dwindle for example Marvel and DC and then resurge again so it's all about film companies knowing when to make things and bring them out if people will watch them and buy merchandise as well and when not to if not people won't otherwise they stand to lose a lot of money unless said companies are rich and have currency to burn away obviously.

They can try again in ten years.
