C:RR S7, E10: The Return Of Rex And Hannah

Ah yes, Charmed: Reset Reality.

For those of you unfamiliar, Charmed: Reset Reality (henceforth to be referred to as C:RR) was launched in 2006.  The reason, the same for many such projects around that time, the authors were unhappy with the direction of the show in the later seasons and decided to make their own. 

The creators of C:RR were Astral Echo (Dan), Drama (Jackie, now the Cafe Admin), Xenith (don't know this person's real name), and Camille (Fourever Charmed). 

The premise was that Prue didn't die at the end of S3, but the sisters would still find Paige.  Of course, this caused a problem, as it upset the balance, after all, it was the Power Of Three, not Four.   This was resolved when Piper decided to give up her Charmed powers, and thus the balanced was maintained (of course, she could still mix potions and such). 

Basically, C:RR replaced the canonical Seasons Four, Five, and Six.   And there were other changes, aside from Prue being still alive.  For one thing, there was no Wyatt.  Rather Piper gave birth to twins, Chris and Melinda.    Also, they kept the original idea of The Founders, instead of the Elders.  And, of course, the episodes were different.

C:RR managed three seasons before it suffered the same fate as so many other such projects, namely Real Life got in the way.  Dan and Jackie, for example, were teenagers when C:RR started.  By the end of what turned out to be the final season, both were moving into adulthood and thus no longer had as much time to devote to C:RR. 

However, what really sunk them was the mysterious disappearance of Camille in 2009.   Camille had become their primary writer, she came up with many of the major storylines, with Dan, Jackie, and Xenith, contributing ideas and such.  Camille disappeared after completing the cliffhanger ending of Season Six.  All attempts by the others to contact her went unanswered and, without her, C:RR quietly died.

When I joined the C:RR board last year, I had arrived long after the party had ended, still I tried my best to help.  I even wrote en episode (with Dan's approval, of course).  I had this old script in my files, The Return Of Rex and Hannah. It was an alternate S5 premier that I wrote way back in 2002.  I tweaked it up to be a C:RR story.  I placed it ten episodes into Season Seven.  I did that because I decided to leave the S6 cliff hanger alone, and just assumed that everything was sorted out.

Earlier this year, my script got deleted, for reasons I still don't know.  So I have posted it here.

FADE IN: BUCKLAND AUCTION HOUSE: JANUARY OF 1999

REX BUCKLAND stands smiling. The Halliwell sisters, PRUE, PIPER, and PHOEBE stand before him, powerless and helpless. In his hands, Rex holds a lantern that contains the Halliwell’s powers, that he had manipulated them into giving up.

Rex: It all feels a little anti-climactic, don’t you think? Too easy almost. Feels as if we need a more satisfying ending. With those words, a black panther, a transformed HANNAH WEBSTER, comes out of Rex’s office and advances towards the Halliwells. Rex stands back, waiting for Hannah to tear the Halliwells limb from limb.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR, THE ATTIC, SAME TIME...

LEO WYATT quickly enters the attic and approaches the blank Book Of Shadows. His hands glow with a bright white light. Suddenly, all the spells reappear in the Book.


CUT BACK TO BUCKLAND AUCTION HOUSE, SAME TIME...

Just as Hannah is about to pounce on the Charmed Ones, something happens. The Halliwell’s powers, which were trapped in the lantern, seem to flow out of it.

Rex: Seeing something has gone wrong. No. He looks up and urges Hannah to finish the job. Hannah, now! Quickly!

The black panther charges forward, leaps towards the Halliwell's, and then freezes as Piper raises her hands.

Phoebe: Astonished. Wait! We have our powers back?

Piper: Baffled. How?

Prue: Taking charge of the situation. Doesn’t matter. Get out of here, fast!

The Halliwell's move to safety and then Prue uses her power to move the frozen Rex right into the path of the oncoming panther. When time unfreezes, Hannah pounces upon Rex and before she realizes what has happened, she severely injures him. Suddenly, Hannah morphs back into her human form and looks down on the prone Rex.

Hannah: Rex, no! She looks at the Halliwell's. What have you done? Suddenly, flames seem to consume Hannah and Rex.

Hannah: Her fear of punishment taking over. But it wasn’t my fault. I didn’t fail, he did! No! Please, no! As the horrified Halliwell's look on, Hannah and Rex vanish into the flames.

Piper: What the hell was that?

Phoebe: I think you just answered your own question.

Prue: Looks at her watch. Okay, we got to get me back to jail now. Let’s go. The Halliwell's quickly leave.


CUT TO THE SOURCE’S THRONE ROOM, THE UNDERWORLD, MOMENTS LATER...

The cowled figure of the Source stands and watches as Rex and Hannah appear in front of him. He is clearly not pleased.

The Source: So, you have failed me!

Rex: Opens his eyes and sits up. What? What happened?

The Source: That is what I want to know!

Rex: Realizing where he is and quickly gets to his feet. Master!

The Source: Well? What went wrong? I asked you to procure the powers of the Charmed Ones for me, and you come back empty handed.

Hannah: But we didn’t fail. We had their powers!

The Source: But you don’t now! So once again I ask, WHAT HAPPENED??

Rex: Trembling with fear. I don’t know! I swear I don’t know! The powers.... The powers....

The Source: Bah! I have no further use for fools like you. Perhaps two thousand years in my dungeon will give you the time to think of your failure! The Source gestures and two Demon guards appear. Take them away! The two Demon guards grab Rex and Hannah, and begin to drag them away.

Rex: Master, please! I beg you! Give us another chance! I know we can get the powers!

The Source: It is too late. You had your chance and you blew it! As the Source looks on, the still protesting Rex and Hannah are dragged out.


TRANSITION FADE TO THE SOURCE’S THRONE ROOM, PRESENT DAY....

The place is completely trashed, as a result of the chaos now consuming the Underworld, as a result of the Charmed Ones destroying the last of the Upper Level Demons. Suddenly, two figures enter the room, we zoom in on them and see that is it Rex and Hannah. Rex is gesturing around the room to Hannah.

Rex: Look at this, the Underworld has been brought to complete and utter ruin.

Hannah: Nodding her head in agreement. True, Rex, but at least the ensuing chaos allowed us to escape from the Source’s dungeon. Five years there was long enough.

Rex: Well, considering that our sentence was supposed to be two thousand years, I’d say you’re absolutely right. He continues to look around the room.

Hannah: So what do we do now, Rex?

Rex: Same thing we did before, Hannah. Go after the Charmed Ones and try to procure their powers. We can use them. He begins to think. For far too long, Warlocks have been without a voice here in the Underworld. Now all that will change.

Hannah: Will it?

Rex: It will, I assure you. He walks over and places his hands on her cheeks. Forget the old ways, Hannah, they’re gone forever. A new era is about to dawn for all Warlock kind. And you and I will be the ones to usher it in.


OPENING THEME PLAYS, THEN FADE TO COMMERCIALS.

FADE IN, QUAKE RESTAURANT...

It is quite busy at Quake, people are sitting around, eating and chatting. We zoom in on the four Halliwell sisters, Prue, Piper, Phoebe, and PAIGE, at a table, talking.

Phoebe: Boy, does being here sure bring back memories.

Paige: Yeah, you three used to hang out here. She turns to Piper. When you worked here.

Piper: Yeah. My dream was always to one day open my own restaurant.

Paige: But you opened P3 instead.

Piper: Sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned them. Sighs.

Prue: Hey, enough of the gloomy talk. We’re here to celebrate. We just took out the last of the Upper Level Demons. It’ll take the Underworld decades to recover from this.

Phoebe: Did we? What about Lillith? We didn’t actually see her die. She could still be out there.

Prue: So what if she is. She has no power base, no followers, nothing. She comes at us again and we’ll punch her card for good.

At that point, a female server walks up to their table. We see that it’s SHELLY (from Feats Of Clay).

Shelly: Piper? Is that you?

Piper: Yeah, Shelly, it is. You remember my sisters, Prue and Phoebe. She gestures to them. And this is Paige, my half-sister. Gestures to Paige.

Shelly: Nice to meet you, Paige. I didn’t know Piper had another sister.

Paige: Well, when Piper was working here, she didn’t know I existed. Gives Shelly a quick rundown on how she found her sisters. And here I am.

Shelly: That’s great.

Piper: How are you and Doug doing, by the way.

Shelly: Great. We have two children now.

Phoebe: Congratulations to both of you!

Shelly: Thank you. Now, can I take your orders?


CUT TO ANTARCTICA...

Rex and Hannah are walking around a palace built into a mountain.

Rex: Well, Hannah, do you like it.

Hannah: I do. Took enough magic to build this place. But what if someone discovers it?

Rex: Shakes his head. That won’t happen. I chose this location for a reason, we’re close to the Antarctic Nexus.

Hannah: Huh?

Rex: At both the Arctic and Antarctic, there are magical nexus that connect this plane of reality to many others. If one knows how, those nexuses can be tapped. I did so here to cloak this place from both magical and non-magical beings.

Hannah: I see. So we’re totally off the radar.

Rex: We are. What a better place to plan and mount our operations. And speaking of which. Rex starts to explain his plan.


CUT TO PIPER AND LEO’S HOUSE...

Piper arrives home from Quake, and Leo greets her.

Leo: How did your ‘sisters only’ evening go?

Piper: Great. It was nice just to sit back and enjoy ourselves. Hopefully, with the Underworld out of commission,, we can have more such get together's. How were the twins?

Leo: Quiet as ever. I just put them down to bed a few moments ago.

Piper: So that means you and I have some alone time.

Leo: Smiles. We do indeed.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR...

Prue, Phoebe, and Paige arrive home.

Phoebe: I must say that I really enjoyed that.

Paige: Me too. Nice that we can kick back and relax, without demons breathing down our necks.

Prue: Still, we shouldn’t let our guards down.

Paige: What it is, Prue? What’s wrong?

Prue: I don’t know. I just feel that trouble is coming.

Phoebe: Hey, I thought I was the one that had the premonitions around here.

Prue: Shrugs her shoulders. Maybe you’re right, Pheebs

Paige: Turns to Phoebe. Remember, you agreed to come with me and give blood at that clinic.

Prue: A worried look on her face. A blood donation? Is that wise, Pheebs, considering what happened with poor Dr. Williamson, a couple of years ago?

Phoebe: Don’t worry, Prue, I’ve taken care of that. I used the Book Of Shadows to cast a spell, which will prevent our blood from affecting normal humans like it did Dr. Williamson. We’re good.

Prue: Well, that’s a load off my mind. You can count me in as well, Paige. Anyway, I’m off to pick up Drea from Dad’s place. See you both later. Heads out.

Phoebe: Turns to Paige. Nice that our blood will be given to those in need.

Paige: Which is why the Social Center set it up. Is Piper on board yet?

Phoebe: No. Winks at Paige. But I’m working on her.


CUT TO ANTARCTICA...

Rex has finished explaining the plan to Hannah.

Hannah: That’s a lot. Do we ever know that stuff still exists?

Rex: No, the books I got the information from are quite old. We’ll just have to hope that the items we need are still there.

Hannah: Do you think that this will work?

Rex: It will. However, Hannah, first we have to get up-to-date on the current status of the Halliwell sisters. He smiles. And I know just whom to go to who can get that information.


FADE TO COMMERCIALS.

SHOW RESUMES, HALLIWELL MANOR, THE NEXT MORNING...

Prue is at the breakfast table, feeding Drea, when Phoebe and Paige enter the scene.

Phoebe: Morning Prue.

Prue: Hey, Pheebs.

Paige: Sits at the table. Hope that coffee is fresh. Pour herself a cup.

Prue: Just made it.

Paige: So, Prue, about the blood donation...

Prue: Don’t worry, Paige, I haven’t forgotten. I won’t be able to do it today though, I’m swamped at work. Maybe tomorrow?

Paige: Thanks, Prue.

As the sisters begin to eat their breakfast, Phoebe notices the worried looks Prue keeps giving at Drea.

Phoebe: Penny for your thoughts.

Prue: I was just wondering, Pheebs, how could my baby girl become that homicidal maniac we saw.

Phoebe: Well, Prue, technically, it won’t be this Drea.

Prue: You know what I mean. In that other time line, did I go wrong somewhere? If so, how? And when?

Phoebe: Prue, why are you beating yourself up over this. That’s over with.

Prue: For us, yeah. But what about that other Chris and Melinda? They had to go back and live in that time line.

Phoebe: Hey, I know it sucks, but there is nothing we can do about it. Except heed what we saw, that is. I mean I’ve made peace with the idea that another version of me is going to be executed for murder, a few years from now.

Prue: Don’t remind me.

Paige: I wonder...

Phoebe: What is it, Paige?

Paige: I know you told me of that version of 2009 that you all visited. I’m just wondering where I was. That version of me, I mean.

Phoebe: That’s a good question.

Prue: We don’t know, Paige. Seems that, for reasons, we never met you in that time line. As to what that reason is, I haven’t a clue.

Phoebe: Of course, a lot things happened in that time line that didn’t happen here, aside from me not murdering Cal Green. Turns to Prue. You don’t own Buckland’s, Piper and Leo are not divorced, and Melinda is not an only child.

Paige: Thoughtfully. An infinite number of universes, an infinite number of choices. Free will is not an illusion.

Phoebe: Turns to Paige. When did you get so philosophical?

Paige: I’m full of surprises. Looks at her watch. I gotta go.

Phoebe: I’ll meet you at the clinic at noon, Paige.

Paige: Right! Heads out.


FADE TO SEVERAL HOURS LATER, THE BAY AREA CLINIC...

We see Paige in the clinic, getting her blood drawn. She is sitting on the examination table, talking to the young Asian Student Nurse, LEAH CHEN, who is doing the procedure.

Leah: I want to thank you for doing this, Paige.

Paige: No problem, Leah. If this blood helps those children, you know I’m all in.

Leah: It will. And I hear you volunteered your sisters as well.

Paige: Smiles. Yeah, Phoebe should be here any minute now. As for my other two sisters, I’m still working on that.

Leah: Finishes taking Paige’s blood. Well, that’s it for you. Hands Paige a cup of orange juice. This should help.

Paige: Thank you. Takes a sip of the orange juice and gets down off the table. She is heading out the door as Phoebe is coming in.

Phoebe: Here I am. Bring on the vampire! Everyone laughs.


FADE TO PIPER AND LEO’S HOUSE, A SHORT TIME LATER...

Leo: Piper, Paige just called. Said something about giving blood?

Piper: Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Looks at Leo. It’s something to do with the Social Center.

Leo: I know, Paige explained it. Apparently, the blood will be given to children who need it. A good cause.

Piper: Yeah, they’re the ultimate Innocents. And helping Innocents is part of the job of being a Charmed One. even if I’m no longer technically a Charmed One. Call Paige back and tell her I’m on my way.



FADE TO AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, SEVERAL HOURS LATER...

Rex and Hannah are joined by GARSTO, who is an Magical Information Gatherer. These beings are neutral, willing to work for either side, provided payment is made.

Rex: Ah, you must be chap I got in touch with.

Garsto: I am. And I have the information you requested. Mind you, it wasn’t easy, these are the Charmed Ones, after all.

Rex: Well, what can you tell us?

Garsto: First of all, there is now a fourth sister called Paige Matthews.

Hannah: A fourth sister!?

Rex: I didn’t know that Prue, Piper, and Phoebe had another sister.

Garsto: Neither did they, until a few years ago, that is. The actual details of how they met her are unimportant. She exists and that’s all you need to know.

Hannah: But doesn’t that mess up the balance of power. It’s the Power Of Three, not Four.

Garsto: Right. That is why the second born sister...

Rex: That would be Piper.

Garsto: Piper, yeah. Anyone, to keep the balance intact, she willingly gave up her powers.

Hannah: She did!?

Rex: Thoughtfully. Makes sense, Hannah. That way the balance is maintained. It’s still the Power Of Three, even though there are four sisters.

Hannah: Yeah, but to give up those powers... Breaks off.

Garsto: Is that all?

Rex: Yes, Garsto, and here’s your payment. Pulls out a beaker. Rat’s blood, one hundred percent pure. Hands the beaker to Garsto.

Hannah: What do you want with rat’s blood anyway?

Garsto: Do you really want to know?

Hannah: Ponders. Not really.

Garsto: Nice doing business with you. Leaves.

Hannah: So, Piper has no powers now.

Rex: Yes, but that doesn’t mean she’s defenceless. She can still make potions and cast spells. And she has the other three to back her up.

Hannah: Yeah, that’s right.

Rex: Puts his hand on Hannah’s shoulder. We must be cautious, Hannah. Remember, what happened that night at the Auction House. Seems we had the upper hand, yet the rug was pulled out from under us somehow. We must make sure that does not happen again. Smiles. Come on, Hannah, you and I are going on a road trip.


FADE TO COMMERCIALS.

SHOW RESUMES, PIPER AND LEO’S HOUSE, THAT EVENING...

The phone rings and Piper answers it.

Piper: Hello?

Shelly (VO): Piper, that you?

Piper: Yeah, Shelly, it’s me. How can I help you?

Shelly: Well, I wanted to say this you to yesterday when you were here at Quake, but I got busy and didn’t have the time.

Piper: Curious. What is it?

Shelly: Rumour has it that you’re looking to start your own restaurant again. Is that true?

Piper: It is.

Shelly: Well, the current owner of Quake is retiring at the end of the month, and is looking for someone to buy Quake.

Piper: And you think I might be interested?

Shelly: I am.

Piper: Let me get back to you on this one, Shelly. Hangs up.

Leo: Comes in. What was that all about.

Piper: Well. Explains. Of course, I’ll have to talk to Prue, Phoebe and Paige, before I make any decision on this.

Leo: Of course you will. However, if you ask me, I think you should do it.

Piper: Smiles. Thanks, honey.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR, THE NEXT DAY...

The four sisters are sitting at the dining room table. Piper has just finished telling them about Shelly’s phone call.

Phoebe: If you ask me, Piper, you should go for it. I mean owning a restaurant has been your dream for years now.

Paige: Yeah, and you have been kind of down since you closed P3. You need to get out there again.

Prue: Of course, there will be risks in the financial side. Let’s not forget that.

Piper: Believe me, Prue, I haven’t.

Phoebe: When do you have to make the final decision?

Piper: Shelly told me that the owner is already putting out feelers for offers.

Paige: So the clock is ticking.

Piper: It is. Wrings her hands together. I should be jumping at this opportunity, but part of me is wary.

Prue: Of course, that’s natural. This would be a big step. Gets up and puts her hand on Piper’s shoulder. However, whatever decision you make, I’m one hundred percent behind it.

Phoebe: Me too.

Paige: Ditto.

Piper: Of course, I might not be able to raise they money...

Prue: Say no more. I’ll gladly help pay. Phoebe and Paige nod in agreement.

Piper: So it would be our restaurant, not just mine.

Phoebe: As it should be.


CUT TO PIPER AND LEO’S HOUSE, SOON AFTER...

Leo: Greets Piper as she comes in. Well?

Piper: Tells Leo about the conversation with her sisters. I’ve got a phone call to make. Heads for the phone and calls Quake.

Shelly (VO): Hello?

Piper: Shelly, it’s Piper. Tell the owner I’m ready to make an offer.


CUT TO THE AMAZON JUNGLE, SAME TIME...

Rex and Hannah are hacking their way through some thick bushes.

Hannah: How much farther?

Rex: Actually, Hannah, we’re here. The two of them are standing in a clearing, at their feet is a red flower.

Hannah: Is that it?

Rex: It is. A blood lily. Very rare.

Hannah: And all we need is some of the sap from this lily.

Rex: Yes. Pulls out a vial and takes a sample. Here we go.

Hannah: Are you sure that this will work.

Rex: Holds up the vial. As much as the book said it would. However, this is but the first step. Come, Hannah, on to our next destination.

Hannah: Where’s that?

Rex: Ever wanted to visit Siberia?


FADE TO COMMERCIALS.

SHOW RESUMES, ANTARCTICA, THE NEXT DAY

Rex and Hannah have returned to their palace, with a bunch of rare herbs and flowers from all over the world.

Hannah: Is that all of them?

Rex: It is. Now we need only one more element. Mind you, acquiring it won’t be easy, but we’ve come too far to turn back now.

Hannah: What’s our next move?

Rex: Time to do some covert surveillance.

As Hannah watches, Rex slips into a trance as he goes into astral mode.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR, THE SAME TIME...

Prue, Phoebe, and Paige are talking in the living room. All are unaware that Astral-Rex has appeared in the room and is listening in on their conversation.

Prue: I think we can do it. If we combine our money, we can help Piper buy Quake.

Phoebe: That’s great. And it will be well worth it.

Paige: Yeah, Quake seems to be pretty successful, and we could use the extra income. Turns to Prue. Now, about you giving blood.

At hearing this, Astral-Rex perks up.

Prue: I’ll do it when I can, Paige.

At this point, Astral-Rex walks over to Prue.

Astral-Rex: Into Prue’s ear. You want to do it now.

Prue: On second thought, Paige, why put off until tomorrow what can be done today. I’ll head down there now. Gets up and heads out.

Paige: Looks at Phoebe. Well, that went easier than expected.

Smiling, Astral-Rex fades out.


CUT TO ANTARCTICA, THE SAME TIME...

Rex comes out of his trance and smiles.

Hannah: Well?

Rex: Seems getting the last element will be easier than anticipated. Tells Hannah what he had overheard at Halliwell Manor.

Hannah: Guess we’re going to San Francisco next.

Rex: You read my mind, Hannah.


FADE TO THE BAY AREA CLINIC, AN HOUR LATER...

Leah Chen has just finished taking Prue’s blood.

Leah: All done.

Prue: Right. Gets down off the table. Now Paige can get off my case about this. Leaves.

Leah then labels the vial with Prue’s blood in it, and sticks it in the fridge. She returns to her desk and is inputting data into the computer, when Astral-Rex appears beside her and starts whispering into her left ear.

Astral-Rex: Your blood sugar levels are dropping. Shouldn’t have skipped breakfast this morning.

Leah begins to sweat.

Astral-Rex: You’re starting to get the shakes.

Leah: Starts shaking. What the hell!?

Astral-Rex: You have a power bar in your coat pocket. You must get to it!

Still shaking, Leah gets up and heads for the closet.

Astral-Rex: Alas, you’re too late. Your blood sugars levels are too low, and you faint as a result.

As Leah faints and falls to the floor, Astral-Rex fades out.

Seconds later, Rex and Hannah enter the clinic.

Rex: Looks down as Leah. One obstacle removed.

Meanwhile, Hannah has moved to the computer and calls up the needed info.

Hannah: I have the labels of the vials that contain the blood of the Halliwell sisters. Reads them out to Rex.

Rex: Right. Heads over to the fridge and collects the vials in question. Come, Hannah, our work here is done.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR, A SHORT TIME LATER...

The phone rings and Paige answers it.

Paige: Hello?

Leah: (VO) Paige, it’s Leah, from the blood clinic.

Paige: Hi Leah. How can I help you. Is there something wrong with our blood samples.

Leah: Actually, that’s what I’m calling about. All your blood samples, yours and those that your sisters gave, have been stolen.

Paige: What!? How?

Leah: That’s the strange part of it. I’d just finished with your sister, Prue, when I started to get the symptoms of low blood sugar levels. I must have fainted. When I woke up, I saw that your blood samples had been taken.

Paige: Hope you’re okay, Leah.

Leah: I’m fine. The funny thing is that I don’t have any blood sugar issues. I never have.

Paige: I see. Thinking. Anyway, Leah, I’m gonna go tell my sisters about this. Take care of yourself.

Leah: Thanks Paige.


TEN MINUTES LATER...

The four Halliwell sisters are in the living room. Paige has just briefed Prue, Piper (who has been orbed over by Paige), and Phoebe about what Leah has just told her.

Phoebe: That is weird. How can Leah have low blood sugar levels if she’s never had that problem before.

Piper: And even if she did, she’s a nurse.

Paige: A Student Nurse actually.

Piper: Well, still, you’d think that she would have been prepared for such an eventuality.

Prue: Unless it wasn’t real.

Paige: What do you mean?

Prue: I mean that Leah doesn’t really have blood sugar issues, but the suggestion was put into her head.

Paige: You can do that?

Prue: Shakes her head. Not normally no. However, I suspect magic is involved here.

Phoebe: I was guessing the same thing? But who? Could this be something Lillith is up to?

Piper: And what would she, or anyone, want with our blood samples?

Prue: I don’t know. However, until we... At this point the doorbell rings.

Phoebe answers the door, and sees DARRYL MORRIS standing there, holding a videotape in his hand.

Phoebe: Darryl? What is it?

Darryl: Enters the Manor. I’ve just come from the Bay Area Clinic. Holds up the videotape. You all might want to see this.

In no time, Darryl has put the tape into the VCR. As the sisters watch, they see Leah at the clinic, working on her computer. Suddenly, she starts shaking, gets up, and collapses onto the floor. As the tape continues, Prue, Piper and Phoebe are shocked to see Rex and Hannah enter the clinic.

Prue: I don’t believe it!

Phoebe: Rex and Hannah are back!? How?

Paige: Who are Rex and Hannah?

Piper: To Paige. You mean we never told you about Rex and Hannah?

Paige: Nope.

Piper: Well, to answer your question, Rex Buckland and Hannah Webster were a couple of Warlocks that we tangled with a few years ago. We had just gotten our powers, and were still learning how to use them.

Phoebe: Around the same time, Rex and Hannah had managed to take over Buckland Auction House. Rex pretended to be the son of the original owner.

Paige: How did he do that? Don’t they do background checks?

Prue: Takes up the story. I suppose. However, Warlocks and Demons are good at infiltrating the mortal world, as we well know.

Phoebe: Yeah, look at Cole. If he could became a lawyer, then taking over an auction house would be a snap by comparison.

Prue: Anyway, Rex called me and offered me a job at the auction house. He said that he wanted me there because of my experience in cataloguing antique artifacts, or something like that. However, what he really wanted was to keep close tabs on us, and see how he could manage to acquire our powers. He fooled us, Paige, both him and Hannah, they were that good. Even I didn’t see it, and I saw them every day for months.

Paige: So what finally happened? When did you finally find out what they really were and vanquish them?

Phoebe: We didn’t vanquish them. We didn’t have to. Gives Paige a rundown on their final battle with Rex and Hannah. After it was all over, they literally went up in smoke. At the time we had no idea what had happened to them, nor did we really care. We were safe, and that’s all that mattered.

Paige: I get it. Still, you were all novice witches back then. You’re not now, nor am I. After what we’ve been through lately, a couple of Warlocks should be easy to handle.

Prue: Don’t underestimate Rex and Hannah, Paige. They may be just Warlocks, but they’re smart Warlocks. They had successfully manoeuvred us into a situation that it was impossible to get out of.

Phoebe: Only Leo’s intervention saved us. Although we didn’t know that at the time.

Piper: Because we didn’t know about white lighters at that point.

Prue: One of the powers that Rex has is astral projection.

Paige: Like your power?

Prue: Shakes her head. No, unlike me, he cannot physically manifest his astral body, but he can use his powers to plant subliminal commands and suggestions into your head.

Phoebe: I’m guessing that’s what happened to Leah. She didn’t really have low those blood sugar levels. Rex, using subliminal commands, only made her think she did.

Piper: Makes sense. That allowed him and Hannah to get their hands on our blood samples.

Paige: But that brings us back to the main question. Why would they want our blood?

Prue: I get the feeling we’ll find out before long.

Darryl: Anyway, if any of you need my help, call me at once.

Phoebe: Thanks, Darryl, we will.

Darryl nods and heads out.

Paige: So now what?

Prue: It’s Book Of Shadows time.


CUT TO ANTARCTICA, THE SAME TIME...

Rex and Hannah have made a potion from all the herbs and flowers they had collected, and have just finished adding the blood of the Halliwell sisters to it.

Rex: Pours the potion into two goblets. Cheers, Hannah.

Hannah: Cheers.

Both drink the potion.

Hannah: Shudders. Ugh, tastes horrible.

Rex: Still, Hannah, if this does what it’s suppose to do, the bad taste will be well worth it.

Hannah: Grinning. Indeed it will.


CUT TO HALLIWELL MANOR, MINUTES LATER...

Paige orbs back in, having taken Drea to Victor’s place.

Paige: What did I miss?

Phoebe: Nothing so far.

Paige; Good, I...

At that point, the front door flies open, and Rex and Hannah come striding into the Manor.

Rex: Hello ladies. Miss me?

Hannah: To Paige. You must be the new sister we’ve heard about.

Paige: The pleasure is not mine.

Prue: To Rex and Hannah. Thanks for making it easy for us. Tries to use her power to fling Rex and Hannah across the room, but nothing happens. What the hell!?

Hannah: It worked Rex!

Phoebe: What worked?

Rex: Oh, just a little potion I whipped up that gives Hannah and myself immunity from your powers.

Phoebe: I’m guessing our blood was part of that formula. Mutters to herself. Damn, the spell I used prevented our blood from affecting normal humans, but I didn’t take magical beings into account when I cast it.

Rex: Correct. Anyway, ladies, Hannah and I are here to invite you to be our guests at our new digs.

Paige: Thanks, but we’ll pass.

Rex: I see. Hannah, if you will.

At that point, Hannah throws a gas grenade at the sisters. All four fall to the floor, unconscious.

Rex: But I really must insist.


FADE TO COMMERCIALS.

[Tim]

SHOW RESUMES, ANTARCTICA, A SHORT TIME LATER...

The Halliwell sisters are tied up into chairs, in a chamber of Rex and Hannah’s palace. Very slowly, they begin to wake up.

Prue: Looks at her sisters. Hey, are you all okay?

Piper: I’m fine, Prue.

Phoebe: Me too.

Paige: Ditto. Looks like they just hit us with some knock out gas of some kind.

Piper: Odd. Why didn’t they just kill us and be done with it?

Phoebe: Hey, don’t give them any ideas!

At that point, Rex and Hannah enter the chamber.

Rex: Ah, back with us, I see.

Prue: What do you want, Rex, or whoever you are.

Rex: Whoever.... Oh, I see. Well, Prue to clarify matters, Rex Buckland and Hannah Webster are our real names. The two people we replaced just had the misfortune of have the same names as us.

Hannah: And we had nothing to do with their deaths. Shax was the one that did that.

Phoebe: We’ve met him.

Rex: And no doubt vanquished him.

Paige: How do you know that?

Rex: Simple, you’re all still alive. In fact, you lot have done what no one else has ever done before, decimate the leadership of the Underworld. For that, I applaud you. Claps his hands.

Prue: You seem happy, considering that your leadership has been wiped out.

Hannah: Actually we are. You see, thanks to our failure to get your powers, the Source had us locked up in his dungeon. He had sentenced us to two thousand years there. It was only your wiping out the Underworld leadership that allowed Rex and I to escape.

Prue: If you two are so happy at what we did, why are you doing this?

Rex: Simple. Your wiping out the leadership of the Underworld has left a huge power vacuum.

Piper: A vacuum you and Hannah intend to fill.

Phoebe: And you need our powers to do it.

Rex: Correct.

Piper: Sorry to disappoint you, Rex, but I have no powers to give. I gave my powers up, a few years ago.

Hannah: Oh, we know about that, Piper. Quite a choice, to give up such powers.

Piper: I didn’t really have a choice.

Rex: I can well imagine. Those Founders are, in my opinion, almost as bad as the lot Hannah and I once served.

Despite the situation, Piper finds herself nodding in agreement.

Rex: Anyway, here’s the deal. Prue, Phoebe, and.... Searches for the name.

Paige: Paige.

Rex: Right, Paige. Anyway, you three agree to hand over your powers, and you get to go free.

Prue: Oh no, Rex, we’re not falling for that trick again. The last time we gave you our powers, you tried to kill us.

Rex: Yes, but that was on the orders of the Source. We had no personal grudge with any of you. The Source’s orders no longer apply here.

Hannah: Yeah, we didn’t kill your nurse friend at that clinic, when we easily could have. How is she, by the way.

Paige: Fine.

Hannah: That’s good to hear.

Rex: Returns to the matter at hand. So, what’s it going to be?

Prue: Do you really have to ask?

Rex: Right, well, I’ll give you a little time to think it over. While I’d rather you willing gave up your powers, there are ways Hannah and I can force them out of you. However, the result of that would be less than pleasant. Come on, Hannah. The two Warlocks head out.

Phoebe: Astonished. They just left us here! Are they that incompetent?

Piper: More like overconfident. They clearly think that, since they’re now immune to our powers, that gives them the upper hand.

Prue: Which is a big mistake on their part. She goes into a trance, and Astral-Prue appears. She quickly frees Piper.

Paige: I got Phoebe. Paige orbs out of her chair and frees Phoebe.

Prue: Now we finish it. Let’s go.



Rex and Hannah are in another chamber, waiting.

Hannah: You know they’re never going to hand over their powers.

Rex: I know. They’re just as stubborn as they ever were.

Prue: As she and her sisters enter the chamber. Damn straight!

Rex: How did you get free?

Prue: Let’s just say, Rex, that my astral powers are better than yours.

Phoebe: You two didn’t think that our powers would have grown in the five years or so since we last met.

Rex: A slight miscalculation on my part. However, that does not alter the current situation.

Hannah: Rex and I are still immune to your powers, remember.

Prue: That may be true in regards to our individual powers. However, I think the Power Of Three will be more than enough to overcome that.

Rex: Looks at the sisters. You may be right, Prue. That is, if we gave you the chance to use those powers against us. He pulls out a scroll from his pocket and reads it in a language that no one can understand.

Suddenly, a swirling vortex appears in the air between the two Warlocks and four sisters.

Hannah: What’s that?

Rex: Remember that nexus point I told you about. This is a portal into it.

Hannah: Realizes what this means. But, Rex, if we go through that, we could end up anywhere.

Rex: Would you rather end up in the Wasteland.

Hannah: You have a point.

Rex: To the Halliwell sisters. Farewell!

With that, Rex and Hannah jump into the portal, which then vanishes.

Paige: What the heck?

Phoebe: Yeah, didn’t see that coming.

At that point, the palace begins to crumble around the sisters.

Piper: Uh, I don’t mean to be an alarmist, but it sounds like this place is about to come down around us.

Prue: Yeah, let’s blow this joint!


FADE TO QUAKE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER...

The four sisters are celebrating their defeat of Rex and Hannah.

Prue: Well, we beat the odds again.

Piper: Yeah, but only because we had an advantage that Rex and Hannah didn’t know about. Will we be so lucky next time?

Phoebe: Next time?

Piper: You don’t really think we’ve seen the last of those two, have you, Pheebs?

Phoebe: I honestly don’t know. I mean, for all we know, they could be out of our universe altogether.

Paige: Well, I’m not going to lose sleep over this. She looks at her sisters. I heard from Leah, about an hour ago. Apparently, Darryl has convinced her that the stealing of our blood was tied to an organ harvesting ring.

Prue: Good a cover story as any.

Piper: Anyway, there was another reason I wanted to come here to Quake. I heard back from the owner, and he’s accepted our offer.

Phoebe: That means...

Piper: That means that, before long, we’ll be the proud new owners of Quake.

Paige: That’s great news!

Phoebe: Amen to that.

Prue: Are you planning to make any changes, Piper?

Piper: Looks around. I think I’m gonna leave thing as they are now. I mean why tamper with success. I may add stuff to the menu, though.

Phoebe: Figured you would.

Prue: Raises her glass. To new beginnings.

Piper, Phoebe and Paige: All raise their own glasses. New beginnings.


CUT TO AN UNKNOWN LOCATION, SAME TIME...

Rex and Hannah are walking along a deserted beach.

Hannah: Where are we, Rex?

Rex: I don’t know, Hannah. Looks around. Could be New England, I suppose.

Hannah: I don’t think so, Rex. She points to the west.

Rex turns to look and sees an immense ringed planet rising over the horizon, indicating that they are no longer on Earth.

Rex: Well, this is unexpected. This must be a moon of that planet.

Hannah: That planet... Is it Saturn?

Rex: Shakes his head. No, Hannah, none of Saturn’s moons can support human life.

Hannah: Then where in the universe are we?

Rex: I couldn’t even begin to guess.

Hannah: Well, now what?

For the moment, Rex has no answers.
