TBH that was to be expected, Obama's inauguration was much more significant, because of what it meant. Trump is the first US president in recent times who starkly split the country, no wonder the Democrats and non-supporters would boycott and deflate his inauguration.
The British press just found out about a failed nuclear missile test from Britain. The missile fell near the coast of Florida. People are already expecting Trump to capitalize on it and force some kind of reimagining or even breakup of the NATO.
These next four years will be intense, I don't envy you at all.

I'm sure Trump's good buddy, Putin, would like that.
Yeah, I know. While I'm not American, a lot of my online friends are.

Here we are. As predicted, kind of long. You can quote anything but let me know your thoughts. Thoughts about the new US-President
How can a man become President of the United States when he never was a politician before? It wonders me and many others how possible that is. A billionaire who only thinks about himself and whoever is against him shall suffer. What world are we living in? The middle age? We have overcome this so long.
Mr. President, this is 21st century! Your country was the first democracy where people's rights were noted in a constitution and most importantly, where immigrated people became united, hence the name of your country: United States of America. And now you want to destroy all your country stands for? Think before you act. A land which was built of immigration is now cutting itself off the world. America first? Or you only?
In my eyes, you'll become the I-President and that goes against all democracy stands for, don't you think? You act like you know all, yet you know nothing - about the world, about trade connections, about globalisation. The world has gone on while you seem to have lived in your own world, right? Now is it a wonder why everyone is afraid of your presidency? You made a lot of promises but can you keep them? And how, most of all? It doesn't look like you have a strategy for the next four years.
Mr. President, for once I'd suggest you take a look at your own history. You traded with slaves and looked for advantages everywhere. You needed a Civil War to realize where your strengths lay and several of your ancestors were shot in job. Especially after the Cold War ended, your country acted like a world policeman. Yes, you brought peace to the world after WWII, yet you started wars when it was not needed, like for example Korea, Iraq and now the fight against the Islamic State. The IS, born from your leftover in Iraq, is now fighting against anyone and anything.
Mr. Trump, Mr. President, each immigrant to the United States has a dream which represents the American dream: from rags to riches. To each their religion, their living world, their dream of freedom and now you wanna destroy this? Show the people respect like you expect it to be given, especially for women, disabled persons and other people in your country. They are there for a special reason: to give their own families hope for a better life. A country made of immigrants is a huge example for anyone! Remember this. And do remember as well that even your family is immigrated!
Looking at your first press conference, you acted like an Emperor. Choosing which media you want to answer. For anyone outside, it looked like we were back to the Middle ages. You produce many news, use social media to turn the economy upside down and yet you only wanna hear what suits you. Still, the United States were founded to NOT have a King again. It seems you see your presidency as your own personal kingdom and your family is the most important one! As if.
When your inauguration was over and your presidency started, what was the first thing that interested you most? How many people have attended your inauguration and if there was manipulation at the election. You question everything but still have no idea how to act like a president for all.
Mr. President, each country will observe you now. One mistake and you're out! To speak with your own words.
Good luck, Mr. President! Well, what do you think? I mean, all important from an outsider is in and what America stands for in our eyes. The world has definitely changed!

Trump should note the following. His first wife was an immigrant (from Czechoslovakia) and his current wife is an immigrant (from Slovenia). Trump wants to deport all immigrants, he'd have to deport them as well.

And Trump's grandparents were originally from Germany. The same would go for him too, but no thanks here!

It still boggles my mind about the wall thing, I saw on the news its going to cost Twenty BILLION dollars, WHAAAAAT?! Why would you waste so much money on that?! You could put that money into charities, or education, or healthcare, but nope, you wanna build a big wall, ok, dude, ok.

Twenty billion dollars!? You're right, that money could be better spend elsewhere. However, Trump wants his wall, he'll get his wall

That's for sure - with that high cost!! The latest thing about the immigration stop for several muslime countries has now also stuck the Silicon Valley! The resistance against President Trump might grow bigger.
A wall brings nothing. I do remind of our wall, between the two Germanies. It didn't work and free will to have freedom and all is always stronger!

I also read today that because of his new immigration policies an Iranian actor who was nominated for an Oscar will no longer be able to attend the ceremony as he hails from a "banned" country so to speak. Poor guy, his dreams are probably crushed.
Also on the wall, I find it awful that probably most tax-paying people will be the ones to inadvertantly fund this wall, one that most people don't even want or care about. I doubt he'd pay for it out of his own pocket.

Exactly, people still crossed over, despite the risk of being machine gunned down. If that didn't stop people, how would Trump's wall do it.
Surely he's not planning on stationing armed guards with orders to gun down those that try to cross.
Oh yeah, the American taxpayers are going to fund this thing.

What I don't understand about the American system is that with the Sanctuary cities. You can be illegal there, yet you have a tax number and everything else. Never mind. Though now Trump wants to cut their money off but the cities are refusing to do that. They would lose taxes and all.
