***I felt that this topic deserved its own thread***
I AM P*SSED OFF Photobucket has decided that, if I want to keep using them to present pictures, I would have to upgrade to something called a Plus 500 Plan. However, the kicker is that I would have to pay for it!Well, this is the straw that broke the camels back. I've thus terminated my PB account. Unfortunately, that means all my pictures are gone now. Sorry, everyone

What a bad news ! I didn't know PB was like that.
I too hope all your photos were kept on your computer somewhere. It'd be a shame to lose them...

No way! Getting you to pay after all those years using them for free? Are they nuts?! Switch to imgur Tim, they're free and easy to navigate. You can upload multiple pictures at once.

I did so this morning, Adam. You can all see that my Rex and Hannah sig pic is back. I'll be restoring my other pictures too. You're right, Adam, they're way better than PB ever was. Thanks for the tip

So PhotoSUCKIT has finally jumped the shark and become a paysite? Thank the GODS I've largely quit using them. In addition to imgur, I also recommend Postimage.org. 100% free, fast, and no registration required. postimages.org/

Yeah, they have. And they way they did, they basically blindsided everyone.
And you won't be the only one. I'm sure they've just lost a lot of clients because of this ill advised move. I imagine they'll be going belly up before long.

Even before this shitstorm, Photosuckit had become a bloated, ad-infested dump of a site and was practically unusable. I hope it crashes and burns.

I gave the folks at the Alexander Palace board a heads up on this, a few days ago. Those that replied told me that they intend to do what I did, and terminate their PB accounts. I heard that people hated all the ads. Now PB goes and does this!? If people are leaving it droves, and it looks like they are, I'm sure it will before long.

Just nuked my own Photosuckit account, but not before replacing all the image links I had posted here and at another site. Luckily, none of my photos had disappeared, but I wasn't willing to take any risks.

Good for you, Betty. The more folks they lose, the more they'll realize what a huge mistake this was.
For some reason, some photos remained, while others didn't. I have no idea why.
All I know is that all the photos I had were gone.

Photosuckit's new "policies" have been a total disaster for the Sims 1 community. Simmers heavily relied on the site for posting game images and previews for new content, as well as albums for houses and lots. Many people's accounts went back 10 or more years.

And now all that work has been wiped out. Epic fail, Photobucket, EPIC FAIL!
The worst bit was how Photobucket went about informing their users about this, namely by not informing them at all. PB users just came on one day and saw all their photos replaced by that announcement, telling them that they would have to start paying money to see their pictures again.
It is any wonder that so many people are angry at PB for this. I can't imagine what the suits at PB were thinking when they implemented this new policy.

People over at the cafe have been having problems with this causing some members having to change their avatars or signatures though storygirl's fought a few free sites for members to use which some of them have obviously.

I terminated my PB account months ago now.
Why are they still sending me e-mails?
