I always liked Vince Hawkins, from the 1977 Doctor Who story, Horror Of Fang Rock. Like Rex and Hannah, Vince is a character that I liked and wanted to bring back. However, unlike R&H, it was harder to do, since magic, at least the kind that exists in the Charmedverse, would be out of place in the Whoniverse. However, I was able to find a way to bring Vince back, so all is well. Anyway, after my story was posted, I went to the Doctor Who section of FanFiction.net and pulled down the character list I saw the names of all the Doctors and all the Companions from both Classic Who and the New Series. Of course, that was to be expected. I also saw names of many guest characters that have appeared on Doctor Who over the last five decades since the show began (including characters from the Audios and novels). Yet, I noticed that Vince Hawkins, from Horror Of Fang Rock, and the main character of my story, The Timelost, was not on the list. Now, before some of you say that only main characters are on that list, that is not the case. As I said, quite a few one-story-only characters, such as Rita (from The God Complex) are on the list. So why not Vince? Anyway, I decided to rectify the situation. I contacted FF.net support and requested that Vince be added to the list, and they granted my request. Problem solved

Perhaps only popular characters were on the list before Vince was added or there weren't many stories with him posted on there maybe.
Anyway, you should now be able to add your story on there and make it easy for people to find it now his names been listed.

There weren't any stories with Vince in them before now. If you go and select Vince from the character list, my story will be the only one that comes up. Yeah, it does make it easy to find my story, since, as I said, it's currently the only Doctor Who story with Vince Hawkins in it

I've not seen Fang Rock on classic Doctor Who even on TV reruns and so don't know Vince or Sally obviously though they do seem like good characters.
Nice back stories and good your mixing nu who and classic who.

My plans for the next story is for Vince and Sally to travel back to 1902, in order to get the full story as to what happened to Vince.
However, the method they will use to go back will only allow them to observe. No one in 1902 will be able to see or hear Vince and Sally.
It will be kind of like when the spirits of Christmas took Ebenezer Scrooge through time. He could only observe, not interact.

I might have Sarah Jane Smith make an appearance in my next Timelost story. Just depends how I can work her in.

Maybe by have her investigate something perhaps that the others are too like in School Reunion?
Or the Timeslot crew could somehow wind up at Bannerman Road for whatever reason or something happens which gets linked to an old Doctor Who adventure that Sarah was involved in.

I'm slowly brainstorming my idea for my next Timelost story.
Vince and Sally, while seeking answers to what happened to Sally's former boyfriend, Lawrence, end up teaming up with Sarah Jane Smith.
Their investigation leads them to uncover a strange conspiracy. At the head of said conspiracy is a villain from the Tom Baker era of Doctor Who (and that's all I'm saying about that character, as to not give the identity of said character away).
Right now, I'm still working out plot details. I hope to have things worked out and the story written by late fall (however, I'm not promising anything, I've had the worst case of Writer's Block this year, due to RL issues).
I'll keep you all posted.

Okay Tim. I look forward to whenever you release this then and understand all too well about getting writer's block when doing stories then. Myself normally I don't write anything unless it comes into my head. Nice to see that my Timelost stories have gotten some reviews at FF.net, and while they are few, they are positive.
Of course, I knew that, going in, that my stories would not connect to all Who fans. For one thing, while they take place in the Whoniverse, the Doctor does not appear. My two main characters both interacted with the Doctor, of course.
And that might be another problem. A lot Who fans today only know Doctor Who through the New Series. So they would know who Sally Sparrow is, however, they would not know who Vince Hawkins is. The story that Vince appeared in, Horror Of Fang Rock, was made 41 years ago, after all. When people don't know who a lead character is, then they have problems connecting with said character.
That being said, I will keep doing the Timelost stories for as long as I am inspired.
Of course anyone who reads Timeslot and watched or knows of Classic Who will remember Vince whilst younger people viewing new Who won't. But as long as someone's described well what their motives are, why they act or do things the way they do, and you have a good plot too then readers will understand and follow through.

Have you ever seen Doctor Who?
The Timelost series is spun off from that show, both Classic and Modern.
