I did re-watch Xena over the Olympic break. Just need to get my reviews up.
Chariots of War
Season 1, Episode 2
Loved that this episode had so much action and good banter between the characters.
I'm shocked I didn't notice Jeffrey Thomas (Jason from Hercules) was such a convincing and fantastic villain. Really loved him.
Gabrielle's love interest subplot wasn't the best, but I didn't think it was that bad. What I picked up on about Gabrielle early in the series was she wasn't' a fighter yet, but it helps she can talk herself out of any situation, which is so important for her survival in the next episode. So she was great with her self-defense in the tavern.
Loved the scene with Xena putting on the blue dress.
Overall rating: 7/10 chakrams - fantastic action, the story moved at a good pace and the relationship between Xena and Gabrielle is growing.
