Yeah, those bugs and worms could still be out there.
To bad they never followed up on either.

I'd have loved a follow-up to this. Always would have been fun to see, or even if one of those bugs had escaped the forests, and ended up in say a city, and caused some chaos.
I loved episodes of X-Files like this.

Truth be told, I always liked the stand alone Monster Of The Week episodes better.
No confusing backstory bogging things down.

They did have so many good ones, didn't they?

That they did.
This weekend, again another rerun on television. This one was another S1 Classic with Tooms, which was the sequel to Squeeze. I love this one so much.

Me too. It was a fun follow-up and a big one, as it included the first time Smoking Man spoke, and introduced Skinner. One of my favourites.
I also loved how the ending scene, foreshadowed and hinted at what is to come for the season finale.

Yeah, little did we know what was coming. That CSM was more than just a background character.

That he was. I really liked how they built him up slowly. It was so much fun to watch. I wish I was old enough to watch the series when it originally aired. In the 90s watching X-Files as a kid, it was scary for me.
On the plus side, I got to binge the season. I can't imagine the season finale cliffhangers, and waiting months for the next season was like.
I became a big fan when the second movie came out in 2008, and loved it ever since. Was nice to watch it live with others in S10 and S11.

The Monster Of The Week episodes were far scarier than the conspiracy ones, IMO.

That they were.
I saw another rerun on television, and it was the one Born Again. The one were Mulder and Scully where a guy jumped to his death through a window from the upper floor of the 14th precinct. Michelle Bishop, was the only one in the room with them. Mulder thinks that Michelle may have telekinetic powers, something that seems to be proven when Scully finds a large burn mark on the body much as Mulder as predicted.
I remember this one for the whole sequence with the fish tank that breaks and freaked me out when the glass smashed.

Yeah, I remember that one too.
Been a long time since I saw it though.

I remember that one. I liked it.
You're making me want to pull out my Complete series on Blu-Ray out again.

I wonder if the episode Home helped inspire the Wrong Turn movies. The premises (inbred mutants) are very similar.

I would not be surprised if it did inspire that movie.
The home episode was a pretty scary episode, I think in some countries they even banned it.
