Yeah, I heard that too. It was too graphic for quite a few.

It sure was. I believe the DVD and Blu-Ray have the unedited original version, that wasn't edited too.

This episode did push the boundaries for what was acceptable at the time on television.
Of course, in this era of The Walking Dead, you can wonder what all the fuss was about.

On British television violence of any kind or swearing can't be shown till 9 pm for obvious reasons though some parents do keep their children up past that meaning it's their responsibility they don't watch those types of shows although this rule doesn't include Amazon Prime or Netflix of course.

Streaming can get away with much more than networks can.

That they can. They seem to be able to get away with more these days, well on Australian television. They don't blur any butts shown on television these days, even in primetime, and they can get away with using some swear words, like the s word. But, the standard is nothing before 7:30 PM.
Our Primetime is a bit different than other countries, which is from 7:30 to 10:30 PM. I never got why primetime in American started at 8 pm, and not 7 pm. It's not like people are not home at 7 pm, I'd figure the earlier the better. I like that for us, it's at 7:30, I feel anything after 10 pm is getting a bit late.

I guess Home would not be so shocking to anyone today.

Exactly, it would be so tame by today's standards, considering what streaming gets away with these days.

Another rerun played. The S1 finale. One of my favourites.
Loved it. Especially Scully seeing an alien in the secret facility for the first time. And how many secret doors she enters, I counted five.
Trust know one as Deep Throats final words.
Loved the book end scene with smoking man entering the secret room.
First time saw this. It was just so cool how they did all the alien evidence reveal scenes.
This might be one of favourite season finales.

Haven't seen it in ages though.

It's a fantastic finale, I really liked it. Now they are playing S2, so I might start an S2 thread soon.

Found this online. The original tv guide or paper ad to promote the series. This would bring back memories. I'm sure most here, have never seen this, or maybe some have, and wouldn't remember.
