Absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised if he or someone else had been whispering in Alyssa's ear the whole time like Barbas telling her how unfair it was she was paid slightly less etc, they always pit the women against each other because if they're friends then they have power, and networks don't want that solidarity. I'm sure of it. They wanted to divide them. I also can see why Alyssa admitted in recent years she holds blame for Shannen's exit. Yet is quiet about the details saying to leave it in the past. She wants to protect her brand. I don't expect her to say anything on it. Another thing I've noticed listening to the podcast is how involved Alyssa's mother is in everything. She's been brought up so much. I can't help but wonder if she had some influence on Alyssa's decision to threaten to sue with influencing her too. She already seemed to have a dislike of Shannen it seems and really wanting to protect her daughters image. I don't know.

It just sucks knowing what could have been, if Alyssa had just communicated and sorted things out we could have gotten season four with Prue. I suppose no point crying over it now, its been a long time.

This has Kernus's fingerprints all over it.
Well, it it's any comfort, thanks to MeToo#, Kernus is finished in Hollywood. No studio or network will touch him now.

But it sounds like Spelling and the male producers just didn't care and liked the women pitted against each other.
I get where Alyssa is coming from, but its like I see why the show was sold with Shannen as the lead and based around her. After all, Holly and Lori were lesser known. Once Alyssa came on board, they should've known Alyssa had some star power. Sounds to me, she wasn't told when she signed on she'd be playing second to Shannen, who was the star. I have a feeling had Alyssa known from the start Shannen was getting paid more, she'd have not signed on, and they'd go off and find another lesser known actress, or they'd have to renegotiate the contract, if Alyssa asked for more with Shannen.

Probably taking bets on which would quit first.

That's a good point actually. Since Alyssa was drafted in so late, its possible she may have just taken over Lori Rom's contract, who was much lesser known and therefore being paid less. Funny how the network didn't think to alter the pay considering her more well-known status.

A lot of it said at the Cafe could've been to do with Alyssa's Mum who had a big hand in her career at the time.
She may've been the person who told Alyssa to start up those cases against Shannen and Holly then.

It just sucks knowing what could have been, if Alyssa had just communicated and sorted things out we could have gotten season four with Prue. I suppose no point crying over it now, its been a long time. Yeah, she could've handled it better. That's a good point actually. Since Alyssa was drafted in so late, its possible she may have just taken over Lori Rom's contract, who was much lesser known and therefore being paid less. Funny how the network didn't think to alter the pay considering her more well-known status. What a good point. They could've altered pay given who they had coming in now. Makes me wonder how if Lori didn't quit and stayed, how differently it would go. I don't see Lori being like Alyssa. She'd be just happy to get her big acting break and not clash with Shannen. Though, if her faith and religion really influenced her too much, we'd just end up with Phoebe killed off. LOL funny if we'd end up with Alyssa playing the half-sister here. A lot of it said at the Cafe could've been to do with Alyssa's Mum who had a big hand in her career at the time. She may've been the person who told Alyssa to start up those cases against Shannen and Holly then. Yeah, that may be true. She seemed pretty involved in her affairs. It won't surprise me she influenced her to do that to protect her own reputation and career.

If Lori's religious beliefs clashed with the premise of the sow, why did she even audition for it?

I think she asked her Church AFTER she did it and they didn't approve. If they did, she'd have stayed. I think Alyssa signed on a mere 4 days before production on S1 began. Shannen and Holly were doing a TV Guide photoshoot, and got told on the day Lori quit. Sounds like she quit very close to even starting production. So the conversations matt and adzpower had, does makes sense why Alyssa just got handed Lori's contract in a hurry to start production.
