And note that the writers knew that Jenny wasn't popular in 1999, in the age before Social Media took hold.
The reboot writers surely must see how unpopular with the fans that Parker and Galvin are. Why are they keeping these two losers around?

Found these on TV Tropes:
Tropes got that right, on how the Vera sisters resembled the Halliwell sisters in the years before Kernus seized power. It got harder and harder to root for the Halliwell sisters in the later seasons.
However, here it's easy for root for the Vera sisters.
I think this one pretty much speaks for itself.

Would you say the reboot has been good so far? I watched the first episode months ago, wasn't too impressed and never kept up with it, but if its gotten better....?

It's a pretty good show. There are some things that I don't like (Parker, for example), but, for the most part, a Charmed fan should like it.

Give it a try again, Adam, and let us know what you think.

Yeah, the pilot wasn't my standout one either though I liked the demon vanquish visual effect.
As Betty said perhaps watch another episode and see what you think although that's up to you Adam of course then.

I've started watching! So I’m up to episode 3, I’m actually really enjoying it so far, the acting is strong, the visuals are cool if a bit Supernatural-esque, I really like the sisters, all three, they have distinct personalities and I’m actually liking Maggie the most, she’s very comedic, her facial expressions are perfect. I also really like Harry, Leo was very generic and beige, this guy seems to have a mysterious past with the mention of one of his previous charges being institutionalized and then killing herself, its pretty dark but I like it, it gives him dimension. I only really have a few criticisms, first of all how quickly they accepted Macy, its episode 3 and it seems like she’s been there the entire time, when in reality she’s only known these girls for a couple of weeks, I find that a little strange, in the original it at least took Piper and Phoebe six episodes to get Paige to move in with them, and I thought that was fast! Second is that The Source of all Evil has already been name-dropped, and his/her harbinger is already here trying to find a way to summon him or whatever….please tell me we aren’t gonna meet The Source in season one and have him vanquished by the end, that is waaaaay too fast. Slow down there writers. But yeah, really excited to continue on.

I think I like him more than Leo, maybe because Brian Krause was by far one of the weakest male actors on Charmed. Leo was just so full. I think they'll tone plots down, they have a season 2 now ordered (even before they finish filming/writing season 1). So no way the Source is going to show up in S1. To be honest, I hope it isn't until Season 3. I also hope this series only goes four seasons, and the Source shows up in S3 and S4. So when he dies that's the end of the show.

I can't see the Vera sisters walking all over Harry, like the Halliwell's walked all over Leo.
The Vera's actually respect Harry and see him as family.

And as Jean said to know the shows renewed for a second year means they won't rush plotlines hopefully and just sit down and work them out across the year and next then.
I to didn't like the mentions Adam stated nor Parker or Galvin though the latter was alright the last episode actually.
And I too like Harry as a person and his Whitelighter role obviously respected by the girls and made to be a part of their family.

Yeah I didn't say it before but I really like Harry's dynamic with the girls, he's not overbearing but he is a good teacher, Mel relenting to him was a big deal because she stopped seeing him as the "older, white, male bossing us around" and learnt to rely on his experience regardless of who he is, I really liked seeing that.
Also I like how the Elders are now just experienced witches, I vastly prefer this take rather than the ancient ones living in the sky being all judgemental.

Me too, I was upset when I heard the name Elders. But I've come around since they are just Elder witches, and do think introducing them this early makes sense and works because they are witches. I like the conflict they are adding.
This might be what the reboot has fixed with the Elders from Classic Charmed. I also think Harry's relationship with the sisters is perfect. He is the father figure they never had in their lives.

So I just got done with episode 6 and there was a really sweet scene between Harry and Macy where he basically admits to staying with them longer than he needs too because his work is lonely and he enjoys being around people for the first time in a long time. THIS is the kind of whitelighter I have been waiting for, someone who is not interested in getting in one of the sisters pants, just a guy who is lonely and wants to do right by his charges and be a good mentor, that was a really beautiful scene. I really hope they keep him firmly in the "Giles" role and don't make him get together with any of the sisters.
Also, I like how freely they use magic, Maggie used glamours to change how the house looked for a party, Mel used this big energy light ball thingy to take out a demon, its nice to see magic in a fun light instead of how in the original show they seemed almost scared to use it in the early years.
I do wonder if we will ever learn anything about the sisters ancestors aside from just their mother. There's been no mention of a father or grandparents.
