I'm very concerned we might be heading into Classic Charmed Season 3 or 5 eras. If they barely want to focus on the sisterly and family dynamic, then they barely know these sisters.
But on the plus side, this might be a good thing. These showrunners have no clue on the direction and are rushing through plots light and right, maybe these ones can plot better.
But I'm concerned that they don't really do much as it is with the sisterly relationship in many episodes. Time will tell.

New show runners. What? Already!? It took Kernus two years to push Connie out!
They want to focus more on the supernatural? Uh, isn't that what they've been doing all along.
I have mixed feelings about this, the original series changed show runners, and we all know how that turned out. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself here.

Same with me, I have mixed feelings. I guess the only thing I'll hope is these ones can plot stuff better and not rush through so many plots.
But, I am concerned that even these old ones didn't know their sisters, it does look like they were not based on any of the writers or showrunners, and these new ones might not know this set of sisters as well as the former showrunners, especially with wanting to focus less on the sisters and more on the supernatural plots.
But they were already supernatural heavy as it was in S1.
Also, the fact these new showrunners are a married couple, concerns me they'll be more interested in the sisters love lives, and I'll hope they won't influence their own marriage in real life into one couple.
I'll hope the new showrunners might consider cutting out Parker or Galvin for creative reasons.

They do know that the show is about three sisters who happen to be witches, right?
Amen to that. Those two characters are a waste of space. Hopefully, Parker will leave when Neo-Rex is disposed of.

Exactly Tim. I really hope they do. I know right. And I hated the original killing Andy after one season, this is the first time, I'd happily want them to remove someone after one season so badly.

Although they do have some good qualities, as characters, Parker and Galvin leave a lot to be desired. Finish whatever roles they're meant to play and get them out of there, please.

Hmm whilst I liked the supernatural element of original Charmed I also loved the dynamics between the sisters and moments they spent together talking about their days and what they did. Any concerns they had. And even boyfriend talking as well.
I hope this happens in the reboot then and not solely focuses on the demon storylines otherwise, I may stop watching the series.
Members at the Cafe I know will certainly be glad they've not watched the show hearing/reading that then.

The switch signals a creative change for Charmed, which “is expected to lean harder into its supernatural storylines and less into the family dynamic” next season, per THR.When I read this, all I can think of is what happened to the original show after Season 2. This show definitely needs a change in direction, but I don't think this is the right one. We've already been getting more focus on the supernatural elements than the sister dynamic. We need more sister storylines, not fewer!

Perhaps things won't be so bad.
Look at the case of the last True Star Trek show, Enterprise. In the final season, when Rick Berman and Brannon Braga (collectively known as Bermanga) stepped back, new show runners came in. These new folks, Manny Coto, and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens, were all longtime fans. Ask any Enterprise fan, and they'll tell you that the final season was the best one (except for the series finale, which Bermanga wrote, but we don't talk about that).
Unfortunately, the changes came too late to save the show (it was cancelled on the orders of Les Moonves, another reason for me to celebrate his downfall).
If good luck is with Charmed, the new show runners will be more like Coto and the Reeves-Stevens, and not Kernus Mark II.

You're right, Tim. We have to stay optimistic. We don't know anything about what the show actually has planned for Season 2, so we can't automatically assume that we're headed straight into a repeat of the Kernus Era.

Hopefully we'll find out more as time goes on.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

I doubt it will ever be as bad as Kernus, times have changed, and the CW is pretty progressive now, they will not hire Kernus 2.0.
Still the wording concerns me somewhat, I thought they were already focusing too much on the supernatural stuff, whilst I'm enjoying the show, I still feel like Mel and Maggie are sisters and Macy is their college roommate, they don't feel like sisters to me yet.

Well, Mel and Maggie have been together a lot longer. Macy is still new to the fold.
No doubt, as time goes on, she'll feel more like the sister she is.

We'll see. Although it could have more to do with this showrunner was only brought on board because the two ladies had zero experience to run a show the same way Connie was and Kernus was brought on to help.
So maybe it will be okay. Nobody is actually leaving, just the man they hired to help showrun for them. Looks like these ladies just are not capable of running the show, so they went with two new showrunners would can. Maybe this explains why the pacing and story plotting is all over the place, maybe now they'll have a better direction on the show moving forward.
Because, I do feel like S1 was poorly structured with plots all over the place, and rushing things at the speed of light, without world building organically.
But I hope they don't tone down the sisterly relationship anymore for more supernatural themes. If they do that, I might just give up on this show. I want sisters who happen to be witches, not witches who happen to be sisters.
