Watching these should make people realize that there is more to Armenia than just the KarTRASHian creatures. There is really more to Armenia than them. In fact, in the Eurovision alone, Armenia is quite reputable - they even finished in Top 5 twice (2008 and 2014). They could have a good chance of winning this year based alone on the songs from their national final this year. A good number of those songs, if chosen to represent Armenia, could win the Eurovision. Meanwhile, Serbia has also released all the songs from their national finals to the Eurovision this year.

Maybe in Europe.
In the U.S., however, you say Armenian, and most will picture Kimmy and her fellow creatures.

I think that's about to change now that Tamar Kaprelian has become famous outside of the US. She made her debut in Europe as part of Genealogy, a supergroup that represented Armenia at the Eurovision in 2015. She also tried to represent Armenia again as a solo act in 2018 but someone else won the national finals. Outside of her music career, she founded the Nvak Foundation which aims to fostering the musical talents of young musicians, singers and songwriters in Armenia.

This is good. Perhaps Armenia will get decent representation in American culture at last.

Here are some more new entries and entrants to the Eurovision this year:
Malta with Destiny Chukunyere
As you have all recalled earlier, Destiny Chukunyere is already a household name in the Eurovision fandom. She won the Junior Eurovision in 2015 and did backing vocals for Malta in Eurovision 2019. This time around, she is now Malta's representative to the Eurovision Song Contest. There are people in the fandom who are rooting for Destiny to bring home a Eurovision win for Malta - and to be honest, Destiny does stand a chance at winning the Eurovision for Malta. As for Destiny's song for the Eurovision, that one will be released in the coming weeks.
Latvia with Samanta Tina
Latvia has also chosen their Eurovision entrant and entry for this year. Enter the newcomer Samanta Tina, who won against singers including Katrīna Dimanta who formed part of Aarzemnieki, the Eurovision entrant from 2014 that was known for producing one of Eurovision's most recent joke entries (their song which represented Latvia back then was called "Cake to Bake"). One could consider this song Eurovision's Feminist anthem because it talks about the triumph of a modern woman amidst her many roles. Samanta and her song also have a fair chance of winning the Eurovision this year given that fans of the contest view her favourably.
Italy with Diodato
Diodato did more than just win the San Remo music festival - he also managed to win the right to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest with his winning entry to San Remo. His song is called "Fai rumore" and it is a ballad. On his Eurovision participation, Diodato aims to promote Italian music to a wider audience. True enough, his song is among the best that Italy could offer to the world and he could very well stand a chance of winning the Eurovision for Italy.
With Malta and Latvia both sending entries that are strong enough to win the televote, some fans point out that this could be Eurovision 2002 all over again. That year, Malta and Latvia were leading in the race to win the contest, as both were audience favourites (and back then in 2002, the Eurovision winner was decided via televote; Jury voting was not reintroduced until 2009, and since then, it is there to complement the televotes). Latvia eventually won the contest that year.

With the UK we have you decide competition on television where people sing whatever which the public vote for and send to Eurovision afterwards but being one of the big five besides France, Spain, Germany, and Italy we don't compete in the semi's and go straight to the final because like I've said before we input some of the money for said country to host the show.

Armenia's national finals is going to be on tonight, and you can watch it online over here. The rehearsal videos for the NFs can be viewed here. Right now, this is the song that's topping the fan polls for Armenia's national finals:

Speaking of which, here is Armenia's entry to the Eurovision this year: (Fun fact: Athena also competed in the UK edition of the X Factor back in 2018)

Isn't Athena a Greek name? Yup, it is. Athena Manoukian is actually half-Greek.
