Don't ask! This decision was made by our ESC broadcasting channel. *sighs*

Ah.
Still baffles me though.

Here's our entry. Made by a jury and no public. Have no idea how it sounds at all.
I've listened to it, it's not actually bad. It's miles better than what your country sent last year in the sense that it can actually manage to gain enough points to stay away from the bottom of the scoreboard.

Here's eight more new entries for the Eurovision this year... Estonia with What Love Is by Uku Suviste Belarus with Da Vidna by VAL Moldova with Prison by Natalia Gordienko (Fun fact: Natalia had competed before for Moldova in Eurovision 2006 as a featured artist) Croatia with Divlji vjetre by Damir Kedžo Iceland with Think About Things by Daði & Gagnamagnið (The Icelandic entry is pretty controversial in the sense that it wasn't even among the frontrunners until a bunch of random celebrities who aren't even well-versed with the Eurovision started tweeting about it. In fact, one of the entrants had to address the claims that Netflix paid verified users to promote the song on their Twitter accounts) Greece with Superg!rl by Stefania Romania with Alcohol You by Roxen Serbia with Hasta la vista by Hurricane (Fun fact: This is the second Eurovision entry as of the year 2000 to be called "Hasta la vista", the first one was Ukraine's debut entry)

A lot of them from the former Soviet Bloc.

A lot of them from the former Soviet Bloc. Yes, because most of the former Soviet Bloc countries tend to release their songs for the contest close to the year's deadline for submission of entries (Armenia is one of those that tends to release earlier). Speaking of which, a snippet of Russia's entry this year is already out: Their entry will be sung by Little Big, a band from St. Petersburg known for their quirky performance style.

Four countries have just selected their entries via national finals today. These countries are Portugal, Denmark, Finland and Sweden. Here are the entries of the four countries for this year's Eurovision:
Portugal with "Medo de sentir" by Elisa
Denmark with "Yes" by Ben & Tan
Finland with "Looking Back" by Aksel Kankaanranta
Sweden with "Move" by The Mamas

Denmark and Sweden usually do well in Eurovision being in the top 5 during the live finals on the voting board.
Sweden also have won 6 times. 1 behind Ireland who hold the all time record which they accomplished late '70s to middle '90s that could well change if the Baltic country wins again this year then.

Nice to see Eurovision still happening despite the whole world seemingly going mad.

If Eurovision didn't happen because of suspected Coronavirus it would be the first time that I've known the contests been cancelled unless it happened before I was born one point which I hope doesn't happen obviously.

Yeah, that would be strange if this contest is cancelled. There's hope still, I guess.
