Wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not. Not gonna keep that egomaniac off the Net for long.

I'm not surprised to be honest. No way he'd stay gone. Only way he'll go away is prison time I'm afraid.

Great, not what anyone needs. This crazy guy back on social media! He should stay off - for good.

And, it will probably go the same way as Gab and Parler before it. These people thrive off of outrage and bullying, so their little segregated echo chambers rarely ever sustain themselves long. They lose purpose whenever they don't have any "libs to own."

so this could be short lived.
At least I hope it will.

Same here, while people should and are allowed to hang out with whomever they want, this sort of site is going to attract a lot of trolls and idiots. All it takes is for someone to say or do something stupid and the whole site gets shut down. So it probably won’t last long anyway

Let's hope so. I only want to see the back of Trump. He doesn't need a new platform for his ideas. It's in the world already.

Not surprised Trump will be back on social media. Hopefully he won't have as many followers this time. I certainly won't be one of them of course.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Trump wants to stay relevant.
They'll get bored if they just have their platform to rant, without having people that do not think like them to bring down.
We need to see the back of him, and hopefully, his endgame is a prison.

And he still thinks he won the election. No doubt he'll rant about that.

Lindsay Ellis recently got bullied off of Twitter for a careless, throwaway tweet that many people saw as racist against Asians. She released a statement about it on Patreon:This is really awful. On one hand, her tweet was pretty careless, especially at a time when anti-Asian racism has been at an all-time high. 8 Asian-Americans were just gunned down in Atlanta, and the pandemic has brought on a new era of Yellow Peril. Orange Man spent over half of his re-election campaign fearmongering over China. Tensions have gone way up, and I can see why many Asian-Americans took offense at Lindsay's tweet. In a calmer year, this tweet probably wouldn't have gotten the same response. But... This wasn't just a case of Asian-Americans taking offense at a dumb, insensitive tweet. Lindsay was actively brigaded and bullied off of social media. A lot of people still hate her from her falling out with Channel Awesome, and they also hate that she's a media critic with a social justice bent. These people were looking for any opportunity to drive her off the internet for good, and they finally found one. I've been a fan of her for over a decade, and I hate that she's been driven to the point of quitting it all for good. The internet didn't used to be like this.

No, it didn't Betty, and Lindsey shouldn't have to quit social media for good because something was taken out of context which she apologised for then.
People used to be able to have their own opinion and not fear any backlash but now that's not the case. You have to be so careful and scrutinize everything you write before posting anything so nothing obviously comes back which's a shame when most people aren't racist obviously.

Yeah, people become careless of what they post on social media, no matter what or who they may hurt.

What's evident is that "cancel culture" actually exists, but it rarely ever affects the people who truly deserve it. Doug Walker was accused of FAR worse a few years ago, and yet, despite all of that, he seems to have come out completely unscathed. Channel Awesome still exists, he's still putting out mediocre reviews, and he still has his dedicated fanbase. #ChangeTheChannel might as well have never happened. But, Lindsay goofs up on Twitter, and suddenly, her career seems to be over. Talk about unfair.
