Walker - Episode 1.02 - Back in the Saddle

WALKER TRIES TO RECONNECT WITH HIS CHILDREN – Walker (Jared Padalecki) continues to try to reconnect with his family but finds that his kids have developed new routines with Liam (Keegan Allen). Abeline (Molly Hagan) tries to comfort her son Walker over his children's relationship with Liam, trying to get him to see it from their point of view, but is Walker ready to listen to the truth. Back at work, Captain James (Coby Bell) tells Walker he needs to get recertified to be a Ranger, but old memories of Emily (guest star Genevieve Padalecki) hinder his progress. Micki (Lindsey Morgan) investigates a suspicious fire.

Sounds interesting, looks like adjusting into his family life is taking some time, I'm assuming Walker left for a bit to find his wife's killer, with no needs, and Liam came in to look after his brothers kids.

I like how it has a family feel to it, with lots of family.

I wonder if Walker will listen to his mother.

Another difference.  In the original show, Walker had no kids.

I really like this version doing it differently, and with more family.

Of course, Jared's Walker is about 30 years younger than Chuck's was.

Yeah, that explains why his parents are here, they'd be dead in the original

I get the feeling that this Walker is aimed at a younger audience than the original was.

Most television programmes nowadays are geared towards younger audiences which would explain why Jared's Walker is not as old as Chuck's Walker was.

Plus it's on the CW.  Youth is what they're all about.

Yeah, it does explain it is on the CW or even parents watching with their kids. This show could be geared to families, especially if the parents grew up or watched the original Walker show. Most of the SPN fanbase who watched Jared, are all grown up now, so hopefully they can target more than than the usual younger crowd.

Jared has a big fan base.  No doubt they'll follow him over.
