This week Wednesday mum and I will visit Syon House in Brentford Richmond which we couldn't do last week because the discount card we'd bought to go inside there hadn't arrived yet which it did last Friday that'll be interesting seeing.
We're also revisiting Oxford next Saturday which we'll go by train from London Paddington using our discounted railcard costing £15.20 return instead of £21 normal price that's a good deal then.
Of course we'll browse the town and visit the shops but also might take the open tour bus we done last time and also punt down the river at a combined price you can purchase in town that we haven't done yet.
We punted in Canterbury but not Cambridge or Oxford then so that'll be nice seeing the town through the river obviously and perusing places we haven't yet like the university if we can.
There is a boat trip also if we didn't wanna do that which can either be done in 2.30 hours or the quicker 50 minute if we done the open top bus trip like I mentioned above naturally.

Oh, I will for both places definitely.
I've taken pictures of Oxford before but not many and especially not of the river as we didn't go down that last time then.

Tomorrow afternoon mum and I will see a relaxed performance of the West End show The Lion King which had been held back due to the pandemic
It was part of her birthday present last year of course.
This type of show inclusive friendly held once a year is tailored for anyone with autism, PTSD, sensory and communication issues too which I don't have although my sister's autistic but as people here know I don't like pyrotechnics, loud bangs, or sudden blackouts during theatre shows that put me off seeing them which the normal version has so this's perfect for me then.
I'll let you know what I thought of it afterward.

I thought I'd start a thread on this so people can talk about any good daytrips they've been on like I have during the 6 weeks summer holiday because the travels thread should be for discussing vacations of course so if anyone goes somewhere nice that they'd like to share feel free to talk about that here then.
Once my Oxford daytrips completed next Saturday I will comment on that obviously.

Such a cool thread. This thread will help me cope, while still in lockdown and enjoy all your day trips, as can't really even go on day trips anytime soon. Melinda Halliwell, can't wait for your day trip report when you have taken said day trip.

Keep them coming. Also in lockdown (but might be lifted soon), this will make me happy, I can live through you guys' day trips even if I can't go on my own. It's fun to read.

Of course and if anyone has any good trips somewhere themselves do share them. I would like to read where people have been also then.

Wish I could.
However, I don't drive, and, thanks to COVID, we don't have an inter-city bus service anymore (Greyhound pulled out of Canada last year, and, a few months ago, said that they would not be coming back). I am effectively marooned in Ottawa.

Oh dear, that's a shame. Hopefully, something will come out of that because you can't just strand people in their cities without transportation then. What if people work in other states or how would they go on vacation if they didn't drive obviously?
That's alright if other members here can't go on day trips due to COVID or transport restrictions like Tim then they can still read where I've been naturally.

Greyhound sold their bus station here in Ottawa to a land developer when the decided that they weren't coming back to Canada.
