I'm surprised that Katie hasn't walked by now, let alone agreed to come back. Sounds like she was promised one thing, they they turned around and pulled a fast one on her.
Of course, Katie no doubt had no idea that she would be competing with Felicity Smoak, AKA the Creator's Pet. Poor Katie had no chance once that became clear. And, as you said, Adam, they added insult to injury to have Katie's dying character actually endorse Olicity.
Ouch! Unless something changes soon, this show is gonna get cancelled. Clearly most of the fans, except for the loud minority on Tumblr, do not buy Olicity.

Clearly most of the fans, except for the loud minority on Tumblr, do not buy Olicity. Yeah it doesn't surprise me at all. Katie leaving really was taken to heart by the fandom. It wouldn't surprise me at all, that the producers and namely Marc was the driving force in getting her out to turn Felicity into the lead. Let's not forget how had the Arrowverse has been behind the scenes for years. I heard so many rumors on reddit for years about how bad it was behind the scenes, and never believed any of it. Some saying that Katie's character was written horribly as punishment in order for fans to hate Laurel and love Felicity. She may well have been one of the 19 who complained about Andrew Kreisberg for years before he jumped ship to other shows, and may well have been punished because of it. Her character Laurel's story changed season to season. I've heard rumors behind the scenes, and Laurel's death had been rumored for sometime before her character died. I didn't believe any of it. But after Andrew Kreisberg's drama, I am now really starting to believe the truths. But most of the Olicity fans are on Tumblr, and they are loud. But that's just how the generation under me is now. They are exposed much more to social media than I was as a teen. As a teen, all I had was forums, email and MSN messenger. Social Media didn't take off until after I left high school. They come out of nowhere, much like the Supercorp Lena/Kara fans finding a huge following in less than a year since Lena was introduced. I really am curious how the show would have gone, if Sara never died at the start of S3. Because I have a feeling she may have been upgraded to regular. How this might have impacted Legends the following year. How things would have gone down.

Let's just hope the drop in ratings wakes these people up. The people on Tumblr do not represent the majority of Arrow fans. They're loud, but small.
The bad ratings is the silent majority voting.

Yeah I do hope with the behind the scenes drama, the quality of the show isn't affected moving forward. But Greg Berlanti is going to be more closely involved now, so we are in same hands.
I think losing Moira, Tommy and Laurel was the wrong move. They lost three strong actors, and kept the bad ones. I do think the show would have been better if Malcolm stayed dead and Tommy had become the Dark Archer 2.0 and had been the one to take Thea away. Keep Moira on the show as Mayor for a little longer, and save killing Moira off for S4 by Damien Dark.
Much better show.
I hated last night's episode, because the first 15 minutes were unwatchable. Did enjoy some parts. The last good Arrow episode was the last episode of season 5, that was my last favorite.

Of course, it's really not Emily Bett Rickard's fault that Felicity Smoak was shoved on viewers. I don't blame her, I blame the people behind the scenes.

Yep blame the behind the scene's not the show or actress. I wish these writers could put personal differences aside and tell a good story. I hope this changes now with all the Hollywood dirt out in the open, that people can be more professional and produce the show properly.
I loved Felicity in Season 1 and 2 when she was just a team member and supporting characters. She shined so much more.

Yeah, if she had stayed that way, she would probably not be so hated now. Unfortunately, she became the Creator's Pet.

I don't blame Emily at all. If you were signed onto a show as a support character and you suddenly got offered the chance at lead? Who wouldn't jump at that kind of promotion? I dod think she struggles in more serious/dramatic scenes though, her acting is far stronger when she is the comic relief/moral compass.

Yeah, I agree with you, Adam. What actor is going to say no to an increased role?
Besides, Emily had no control over what happened with Katie.

I don't mind the park bench if it raised money for charity but just not over enamailed about the couple on TV.

On one hand, its a great cause. On the other, I know that if a group of fans had immortalized Green Arrow and Black Canary on a bench all hell would have broken loose and the twitter threats would have come. A lot of Olicity fans are very, very two-faced and they love their double standards. But like I said, this was nice of them, perhaps it shows that they aren't all bad after all.

Green Arrow and Black Canary should have their own bench as well.
If the Olicity fans don't like it, screw them. If they're allowed a bench, then the Ollie/Laurel fans can have one too.

Colton Haynes is returning as Roy Harper/Arsenal for episode 15, finally a reason to watch! Though it seems this is going to tie in to Willa Holland's exit storyline. She seems totally done with the show. I can't blame her, she can obviously see what is happening with the show and wants to get out of there while she still can. The last time Thea had a storyline was early season four. That was two years ago. Unacceptable.
