I didn't see an Arrow thread, so I started one.
I am curious where they are going to take Black Siren and where Oliver and his son's relationship will go.

This was the show that started it all.
Mind you, I didn't get into the Arrowverse until the Flash came along. Then I had to work backwards from there.
Ollie and Felicity just got married. How do you feel about that, because there is apparently a lot of people out there who don't like Felicity Smoak.
Funny thing about Felicity, she's played by 26-year-old Emily Bett Rickards. However, from what I have seen of her in the comics (which isn't much, mind you), she looks like a much older woman.

Yep it sure was.
I got into Arrow but that was because I loved Smallville before it. But it took me time to get used to the new Arrow after seeing Green Arrow on Smallville.
I have to admit, I hated them being together. I really wanted Oliver and Laurel to be together, but then I am now okay with them. As for the marriage, I hated it. I'm fine with them being together, I just didn't want to see them married on this crossover and taking the attention away from Iris and Barry. That didn't sit well with me.
Yes, Felicity in the comics was older and apart of the firestorm comics. Arrow changed her to be younger and then the New52 Comics changed her to be more like the one from Arrow.
What I find interesting is in Smallville Oliver ended up with Chloe and not Black Canary. And on Arrow Oliver ends up with Felicity and not Laurel. I'm sad because no television version ever wants Oliver and Laurel together. But what can you do.
I am liking this season, especially because Michael Emerson (from Lost and Person's of Interest) is this season's villain.

Didn't the New 52 happen before Arrow started? Mind you, I'm a bit fuzzy on DC Comics now.

But Felicity was introduced into the New 52 comics a few years later around issue 30 something. John Diggle was added into the comics much earlier and remained in the comics, but the Felicity character was dropped and hasn't appeared since I believe.

I have seasons 1 and 2 on DVD but don't watch it otherwise except for the last 2 annual crossovers with Legends and Supergirl which I prefer and the episode featuring Constantine.
The fact it's become the Olicity show puts me off which I did not like her last week stealing Barry and Iris's thunder and the fact they killed Laurel well although I do love Smallville though.
I have season 1 then 6-10 on DVD and did like Oliver Queen which's when I really got into it then.

And Adam, and a lot of other fans as well, apparently.
Which is why Sara is after Damian Darke, the man who killed her. She wants to avenge her sister.

Warning wall of text rant below.
I have huge issues with Arrow as Tim said, the writers don't listen to the majority of the fans, they just go on tumblr and follow the Olicity cultists and do what they want, for me, the crossover was the final straw. It all started Two years ago, when they mercilessly killed the Black Canary, I'll reiterate, the BLACK CANARY, essentially the equivalent of killing off Lois Lane in a Superman show or killing off Mary Jane in a Spiderman show, the difference being that Black Canary isn't just a damsel in distress love interest, she's a hero in her own right and deserved to be treated as such. The atress who plays her, Katie Cassidy, said at a convention that "politics" were in play when asked why she was killed off, what she means is, the producers wanted Olicity, not the true canon pairing of Green Arrow and the Black Canary, simply because I'd say about 2% of the fandom promote it.
And these "fans" are vicious creatures indeed, regularly going on social media to hurl insults at any other female cast member who "threatens" their ship, merely by having scenes with Oliver without Felicity present, they constantly launch tirades at Stephen Amell's wife, they edit photographs of Stephen, his wife and their daughter to show it being Stephen, the daughter and Emily Bett Rickards, they are psychotic, and because of them, a good show has been ruined.
The writers had Laurel on her deathbed wishing Oliver would get back together with Felicity, I mean....I just wanted to put my head through a wall, it was such a show of disrespect and immaturity that I was done. And then came season 5, a welcome return to form, Oliver and Felicity were apart, she wasn't getting a whole load of attention, and the show went back to its roots and focused on Oliver, and it was great. And then it ended.
Enter season 6, we get news that Katie Cassidy is returning as a series regular as Black Siren, the Earth 2 version of Laurel, yes! Our prayers have been answered! In the comics, Black Canary was from Earth 2, and came over to Earth 1 when her Oliver was killed, we all thought we were finally going to get the truest on-screen Black Canary! Once again we were duped, its been 8 episodes so far, Siren has made two proper appearances and a few cameos in one other episode, and that's it. What we've actually gotten once again, is Olicity shoved down our throats, the writers just won't ever learn! After Laurel was killed the ratings tanked, despite what the 2% on tumblr say, Olicity is very much the minority of the fandom, and now we arrive at the present, where Felicity literally INTERUPTS Barry and Iris' wedding to proclaim that she wants to completely overshadow it and get married to Oliver literally OUT OF NOWHERE two episodes after telling him she didn't want to get married. I AM DONE.
TDLR: Felicity sucks and she ruined Arrow along with the writers.
EDIT - A fun fact about Felicity's intro into the new 52 comics, she was written in, and then five issues later the writers of the comic were replaced and Felicity vanished, she was so negatively received by fans of the book that DC had to intervene and completely wipe the stain of her from the comic.

Show writers either need to stay away from Tumblr or stop listening to the fans there, IMO. Otherwise stuff like this happens.
These fans are not writers, they know nothing of how a TV show works and what characters work and what characters don't. However, since they are so loud, they seem to scare the writers into writing what those fans want to see and the integrity of the show be damned.
Sadly, that seems to be the case with Arrow here.
That is going WAY over the line. To be mad at the characters is one thing, but to be mad at the ACTORS!? No, that is not acceptable.
I hated later seasons Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed, but that hate did not extend to Alyssa Milano. Unlike these Olicity nuts, I can tell the actor from the character.
It's no wonder that some fandom get bad reps. A small, but loud, minority, ruin it for everyone.
And no doubt a lot of fans wish that the show writers would do the same.

Yeah that is the case with shows these days and how social media can be a bad thing.
It's the same on Supergirl with Lena and Kara fans they are so vocal - actually they are twice the size of Olicity now. Because they won a pull on Tumblr as best ship of the year I believe and the actress playing Lena won the actor of the year for most Tumblr Activity. A big controversy occurred earlier this year with this fan group and the actors got into trouble for offending the fan group who didn't agree that Kara and Lena should or would be a couple.
But I doubt they will ever seriously pair Kara with Lena, the same way they won't pair Dean and Castiel on Supernatural.
But the Arrowverse has had so many problems behind the scenes with the firing of Andrew and so much drama in the writers room. That now I'm second guessing half the decisions they have made on the show especially the female cast.

Since neither Kara nor Lena have shown any lesbian tendencies, these ideas are crazy.
Besides, they are building up a James/Lena romance, it seems.

Yep, once again tumblr is trying to dictate what should happen on a CW show, but I praise the writers of Supergirl who haven't given in, I've noticed a few times this season they've put emphasis on Kara and Lena as FRIENDS, obviously an attempt to tell the fans that no, they will never happen, they are not attracted to each other, they will simply remain good friends, and that is enough.

The same thing happened on Smallville although that is a different show entirely after Chloe Sullivan meet Oliver Queen season 6 and then helped the untitled Justice League (Green Arrow, Aquaman, Cyborg and Impulse) take down one of Lex Luthor's 33.1 facilities. The fan's started shipping Oliver and Chloe as friends or straight up boyfriend/girlfriend fanfiction writing, manip pictures and video making which was small at the time and before fanfiction.net started allowing users to upload and find stories by pairings. Then when Oliver guest starred season 7 it grew slightly until he came back regulary season 8 and Chloe joined his team. Like Arrow by season 9 Smallville's writers took notice and answered fans prays pairing Oliver and Chloe who later got married season10. There were die hard comic book fans who didn't like that wanting Oliver and Dinah (Black Canary) who was in his team together obviously but as the writers stated Smallville wasn't an exact representation of comic book mythology but their own adaptation of Clark Kent's story which (Chollie) fans said if people didn't like them then they should just stop watching.

This is one con of the Internet age. Fans now have direct access to writers of their favourite shows, and some fans take it upon themselves to dictate to said writers on how the show should be run.
Of course, the fault really isn't with the fans, it's the writers who actually follow the suggestions of these fans. Don't these writers know any better. Why do they listen to people who know nothing about producing a show.
Perhaps it's time for producers to put their feet down and ban all their writers from visiting Tumblr. Of course, how this ban could be enforced would be a problem.
The Olicity mess could have been avoided had the Arrow writers just stayed away from Tumblr.
