Could Harry and their mother have been romantically involved in the past? I totally can see that!
Maybe the message wasn't from their mother at all?
I'm so glad they are not brushing away the idea of the long long sister being a sister the whole time. This one is keeping the tension with the addition of the new sister in their lives. Well done!

Yeah, they need to take time to integrate Macy into the family. She just showed up, so Mel and Maggie will be wary at first. Give them a few episodes to fully accept her.

So Harry could be the Sam Wilder character in this show then?

He could be, I guess.
Of course, he's not black. Wouldn't one of Macy's parents have to be black?

Don't all the sisters have different fathers, though? He could be either Mel or Maggie's father if they're going to go that route.

They're all half-sisters? I was under the impression that Mel and Maggie had the same father.

They're all half-sisters? I was under the impression that Mel and Maggie had the same father. 1. The sisters’ different racial identities will inform their approaches to magic.
The sisters have the same mother, but different fathers, Urman confirmed: “They’re multiracial, the family is, and the girls do have different fathers.” Those differences will be explored as the sisters gradually come to terms with their powers, she added. “We want to explore each of their unique heritages, and the interesting ways that different cultures intersect with witchcraft.”www.cosmopolitan.com/entertainment/tv/a22655676/charmed-cw-reboot-news-premiere-cast-spoilers/

Another change from the original series. The original Charmed Ones had the same mother and father, with only Paige having a different father.

If I had to guess, Macy will have a black father (duh), Mel will have a Hispanic father, and Maggie will have a white father, so if Harry turns out to be somebody's dad, it'll most likely be Maggie.

Marisol, their mother, sure got around, didn't she
No doubt we'll find out gradually as the series goes on.

Oha, nice fact from the reboot. What a premise with all sisters having different fathers.

Well, now we know, it wasn't their mother after all. It was a trickster demon, trying to divide the sisters and take their powers. And this will no doubt put the sisters off using the Ouija Board again. Even if the real Marisol tried to communicate that way, how would the sisters know that it was really her. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Got another X-Files vibe here. That black goop reminded me of the similar alien black goop from the X-Files.
Loved the funny plot about the truth serum. Grabbed the wrong thermos there, Macy!
Poor Maggie, she really needs to get that mind reading power under control. She's trying to have sex with her boyfriend, and keeps hearing his thoughts!
Loved their code name for Harry, "Meghan Markle".
Nice to see Macy settling into the Manor.
Their bond as sisters helped save the day, after all.

Darnit, Tim. Why did you have to post at the same time as me? .... Loved this episode. Sure enough, that wasn't really the sisters' mother in the Ouija board, but an impostor demon. Interesting twist to have the sisters pining after their mother and seeing her again, only for her to turn out to be an evil lie. It almost feels like a subversion of the original show's constant (and mostly unnecessary) Penny and Patty appearances. It was a great episode for exploring the sisters' dynamic. In an unexpected twist, Maggie may end up being the "mediator" sister, balancing out Macy's logic and Mel's emotion. Interested to see where the "black ooze" storyline goes. The stakes seem to be far higher here than they ever were on the original show.

Whoops, sorry
I agree.
Of course, I wouldn't mind the real Marisol showing up, IF they only did it once or twice, and not run it into the ground.
If that did happen, would the sisters believe it was really her, or would they think they're being tricked again?

Got major X-Files vibes in this episode with the Black Oil.
What a lovely episode, way better than the pilot. So much was better paced, and the sisters were good.
What I truly loved, the supporting cast didn't take over. Let this trend stay longterm.
Have to admit I feel no chemistry between Macy and Galvin if they want to pair these two up. I just don't feel it, I feel more for Mel and her girlfriend. So I'd gladly let Galvin be the first main character to die before they kill Nico the Andy again.
So the Harbinger of Hell is our bid bad for the season. Then we do have that Rex 2.0 character working in Macy's lab showing up soon.
