So sorry to hear that it must be scary, especially when it is close to home.
I don't get why the US government hasn't done anything about gun control. Like seriously, this will never stop, and how many more lives have to die. In Australia, we had one mass shooting in 1996, and our government took immediate action and following the Port Arthur massacre, the Howard Government, with strong media and public support, introduced uniform gun laws with the cooperation of all the states, brought about through threats to Commonwealth funding arrangements. And we haven't had a mass shooting since.
I just wish America took faster action. But they'll continue to look the other way.

I wish our government took immediate action with gun control years ago, like it appears you guys down under have done. And we all got an email from the Board of Education in Bayonne saying that some kid said on Twitter they were going to shoot up the high school, WTF is wrong with these kids!?!🤬 WTF! Your kidding. What is wrong with the kids today. It makes you wonder, just how exposed kids today are by what they watch and read online these days. This is the issue I have with gun control, especially when it takes such innocent lives. And seeing young kids are the ones shooting people.

Normally with gun-related issues, I always hear it's either someone's after another, it's gang or terrorist targeted or a person with mental health issues perhaps and it is crazy what young people see online and how easy it is to access that despite parental controls on laptops, computers, and tablets.

Me too. The bad side of social media and online. And just who kids speak too online from god knows where or who they are.
It's so sad how much young kids are being influenced these days. I hate seeing young kids die or harm others.

Grooming's not usual with abusers being very matriculate how they get victims with some people finding out only when it's too late.

The difference is that it's not written into the Australian constitution that owning guns is a God given right.
The Second Amendment was meant for the time it was written in, 1787. Back then, Britain was still a threat, relations with natives were not so cozy, and more important, back then, if you didn't hunt, you didn't eat.
However, that world hasn't existed in centuries. Even hunting is now more a recreation (load up the car, drive out to the woods with the boys, have a few brewskis, bag a deer, so you can mount the head over your fireplace and brag about it to anyone who'll listen) than a necessity.
It's not 1787 anymore, America. Time that Amendment was dropped or changed.

Would a public unanimous vote be needed to change that? Or enough votes in the Supreme Court or Senate?

Good question. I'm sure the process isn't as easy as we think.
Anyone know here who is American?

Easier to pull teeth.
Yep, it sure does.

Exactly, so much harder than most countries I'm sure. Still it is a huge issue, that shouldn't be ignored. Especially when America is near the top of most most gun related deaths in the past decade.

That's what happens when you continue to base your country on a document that was written in the 18th Century.
The U.S. system is literally time locked into 1787.
