Well, the South did break away once, and the North went to war to get them back in.
Don't see that happening again.
Mind you, not all mass shooting happen in the South. Sandy Hook, for example was in Connecticut. And Columbine was in Colorado.

My mind map of all states in the USA is not that correct. Yeah, a gun control there is definitely needed.

That sickens me to hear that crap said online. I hate that. The victims of the shooting have my sympathy. That is what those idiots should be caring about, of course, they are more worried their precious guns will be taken off them and spreading stupid conspiracy theories that it was faked, WTF.

I should have clarified that this shooting didn’t happen in the South, it was in Boulder, Colorado which is out west. I hate it when people hope that people in other parts of the country get ruined by a natural disaster or killed in a mass shooting, no one deserves that. It happened with Hurricane Sandy and it’s not funny when people joke about tornadoes blowing away trailer parks in the rural South or Midwest, since the latter are often poor and don’t have insurance. Boulder is the home of the University of Colorado and has a lot of hippies, that’s why the people on the forum were mocking them. But the supermarket was in a working class area and several children and a police officer were among the victims, it’s obscene to mock victims of a mass shooting 🤬

Still, it shouldn't happen at all. Not the shooting and not the mocking. These were always innocent people, no matter where they come from, which religion they have and so on!! And then to use the 2nd amendment to reason this, is definitely not good. Words are better than bullets!!

Of course, mass shootings do happen in other countries (like New Zealand, a couple of years ago). However, not often, because it's not so easy to get guns in those countries.

We had also some but not in the mass. Discussions also came up and it was done.

Because guns are not so easy to get in your country.
In the U.S., they are, that is why so many such shootings happen there.

You need to have a reason for using a gun and that's mainly for sports here or for tradition. Otherwise, only police and army!

As it should be.

Problem is the NRA and the gun lobby are so powerful with lawmakers, Congress is terrified to upset them since they’re so big. Plus with all the craziness with the riots and BLM more people think they need to protect themselves, so gun sales went up last year. While the riots look scary, most shooters are white men and not protesters. Problem is that some mass shooters get fame and notoriety so some loser thinks that if they shoot a bunch of people, they’ve accomplished something 😠

As I've heard, the NRA started also as a traditional union. Only with the shootings in the 1960ies it changed and we got the powerful NRA which is now active. And many celebs are also active here like Charlton Heston and so on.

I remember the TV spots he did, back in the 90's. He basically reiterated the old "you can have my gun when you pry it out of my cold dead hands" spiel.

That teacher should go out and buy a lottery ticket.
And how could that gun have been so accessible to that kid. Parents should be charged with criminal negligence.
