Had a wonderful Christmas, as everyone else had here.
Now it's just New Year. Unlike others, I'm not like those who go out all night drunk and crazy. I just prefer it relaxing at home. Those days are behind me.

Same here.
I'm not 20 anymore. In fact, I haven't been that age in 35 years now.

I was never a nightclub person myself and so stayed in most new years as well especially when the fireworks go off around midnight which I dislike concerning my phonophobia fear.
It's hard enough trying to get into places anyway when they sell out quickly because everyone's booked early.
The one thing good about Britain on new years is in my area and around London transport is free from midnight till 6 am with normal buses and trains running alongside night services so people can get home compared to taxi cabs which cost more money unless more than one person's sharing the ride.
Whether enough folks go out due to COVID will have to be seen but after the second year of restrictions we've had, I think they will obviously.
This year the fireworks display at the London Eye's been canceled again also although the bongs of Big Ben will chime.
They'll probably do a similar thing to last year with different fireworks going off at certain places in the capital.
Scotland's annual Hogmanay will not be happening as they, Wales, and Ireland plus Northern Ireland have new restrictions in place concerning Omicron then.

Our family friend who passed earlier this year would always call us new years eve and wish us a happy time which he won't no longer do of course. He didn't go out then either choosing to drink indoors himself avoiding the crowds and queues.

Looks like it will be a quiet New Year's for most of us then.

I've never really been a fan of the celebration around new year. Just doesn't bother me, woohoo a new year has begun - same old, same old.

Me either. Christmas and Thanksgiving yes. But New Year to me is just nothing important to celebrate. Another New Year, big sh**t.
Apart from making calls and texts checking in on friends and family. It's nothing to me.

Like others, this day doesn't bother me either as it's just another then though mum and I will be seeing a pantomime in the morning which she wanted to do. We'll eat afterward and then drive back home before it gets dark of course.

For me it's mainly that I then start my own countdown - toward my birthday. lol Otherwise, it's only me or my neighbors, friends.
