I'm surprised this is still running given what's going on in the world.
But makes sense, why Russia has been banned from the contest. For the best.

I previously shared my top three entries for this years contest which are ballad based now it's time for the bops that get my head going and what I think of the UK's entry.
The first consist of two countries namely Albania and Spain who both give out the same vibe but sound different musically. Either woman screams diva with dance moves but Chanel from Spain takes it to another level with the staging and dance break in her national final performance that fit the song well as is being able to do all that and sing at the same without breaking a sweat obviously.
Albania's entry based of a legend is about Vjosa an Albanian princess who fell in love with a commoner who was killed so she turned into a snake and jumped off the castle she lived at ending her life.
In present times their reincarnations meet on the roadside and feel an instant connection from the past.
I like the ethnic vibe this songs gives musically.
It's Albania's best entry in recent years and should give them a top 10 slot in the final hopefully.
And finally the UK. I'm optimistic about this year's entry. It's the best we've had recently so we shouldn't be last on the scoreboard final time then.
The BBC changing music agencies and sending something quintessentially British was a good move after last year obviously. It was also good choosing an artist currently popular on social media whom people know about than someone they don't actually.
Spaceman's something everyone can sing to giving off Elton John / David Bowie vibes in tone whilst being streaming and radio-friendly which bodes well also along with Sam's vocals that help naturally.
Jury wise we could do well alongside Poland, Australia, and Italy in terms of delivery, good staging provided with people's opinions differentiating between the 4 countries.
Getting on the left-hand side of the board within the top 15 or 20 would be amazing and in the top 10 even astounding although I'm more sure the first and not the second would happen overall perhaps.

What is it about Albania producing great singers (such as Rita Orra, Dua Lipa, and such). Must be in the genes.

I haven't made a decision yet if I watch it this year. Depends on my mood, I think.

As I've mentioned previously Albanian singers are known for having great voices including people from other ethnicities with Albanian heritage like Gjon Murrahemaj from Switzerland then.

All 40 songs for this year's Eurovision have now being released.
The last entry Azerbaijan showcased their song yesterday.
My current thoughts firstly are good luck to all countries involved and huge respect for those singing in their native languages.
I can't say whether this year is better than last until the semi-finals and grand final have passed obviously.
The competition's wide open at the minute I think with folks who already know how unpredictable Eurovision is that there may not be one overall winner yet until the live shows judging on which song has the better package vocally, lyrically, staging effects, and originality although some entries already have winner vibes written all over them.
Singing wise I do know that with more than one powerhouse performer this year they'll be a battle for best male vocalist between Sheldon, Ochman, Mahood, Sam, and Nadir which could split jury votes then.
My top 7 in no particular order currently are Albania, Australia, Azerbaijan, Italy, Spain, Poland, and dare I say it for once even my home country the UK who've sent a good entry this year I think.

Yep. And if you ask why that and Israel non-European countries are in Eurovision that's because the (EBU) European Broadcasting Union host and run the contest which these two nations are members of actually.

But I think they can only participate since last year. Voting already longer but that's without guarantee.

Australia was invited as Eurovision guests in 2015 because the countries such huge fans of that and so took part in the Grand Final actually. They were allowed back in 2016 but had to participate in the semi-finals which they did and progressed to the Grand Final then.
The same things happened ever since except last year when Australia didn't qualify and their performance had been pre-recorded because their singer Montaigne couldn't travel to Rotterdam due to COVID restrictions obviously.
This year they might qualify with Sheldon Riley but he'll have competition with Nadir Rustamali from Azerbaijan whose in the same semi-final singing a ballad like Sheldon whilst also having a powerful vocal as well.
