If Lex was seen again I would want him recast as Adam said but if Jesse's portrayal of the Luthor billionaire wasn't well received maybe the execs might decide not to use the character again. Yeah, a recast would be great. Otherwise, maybe it would be just easier to not use him and bring on another of Superman's popular and iconic villains.

If they get Henry back, let him laugh and smile. His Superman was much better then.

I sure hope so. And in these current times, no way is a dark and gritty Superman what the world needs. Come on.

Superman was never meant to be dark and gritty. Zack Snyder was ripping off the Dark Knight movies.

Yeah, and that really didn't fit. But, most fans like Superman that way, I sure don't. As you can tell how crazy they are for the Snyder cut of Justice League than Joss Whedon's less dark and gritty version of Justice League when he took over as director half way in production.
Won't bother me, the younger generation can have their Superman and I can have mine.
But, like I said, with the current world at the moment. I don't think Synder's Superman will fly or will be appreciated, that isn't what people need.

Just keep Snyder away from these movies.
The latest ones have done just fine without him.

Sorry, but Tyler Hoechlin is Superman for me now.

I'm actually quite excited for this, we all love Tyler here and understandably so. But Henry is a great casting as well, and he was always wasted thanks to the tone Zack Snyder forced onto his DC films which just didn't work for Superman.
So with Henry coming back, and Zack not, this should in theory be a great move. Please just don't screw it up again Warner Brothers!

That is true if someone's depicted badly on screen and it's the writer's fault then the actor isn't the problem.
Hopefully, with a new writer, Henry's Superman is received better of course.

Fingers crossed Henry can get a proper sequel with no Snyder. He deserves one to really show-case Clark. I didn't like Man of Steel was literally 80% was focused on Superman and the battles. It had zero story.
Tyler is my Superman still that won't change, but Henry deserves a better movie.

I guess we'll know for sure whenever this movie comes out, but after all the chaos I doubt Henry would have signed a new contract unless he was sure they would treat him right this time. There have been rumor's for years now that Marvel Studios were trying to woo him but him signing back up for Superman tells me they are treating him right this time. There must be a a ton of directors/writers out there who know how to write Superman properly, find those people and pay them to make a good movie. WB have been making it look very difficult, but in reality it really isn't.

Note to new director: Superman is NOT Batman!

Nope, he is fun, loveable, goofy and clumsy (although intentionally done to hide his secret identity), plus positive and hopeful. Someone people look up to as an inspiration to be a better person themselves. That's who Superman is overall.
Brandon Routh did a good example of trying to balance out both sides of Superman's personality in "Superman Returns" emulating Chris Reeve's performances in his films which the new writer can visit both people for ideas then.
Of course, they couldn't just completely do a 180 on Cavill's Clark otherwise people would question WTF but instead introduce things over time since Superman's reborn in the Justice League film which fits the narrative but is naturally believable also.
