I laughed when I saw that on my Facebook feed, they only had one hit 18 years ago and they were feuding with their fans on Twitter. I think most people forgot about them, I was surprised they were still around. I didn’t like their song Headstrong back in the day, it sounded like generic nu metal. Whatever “fans” they had back in the day have long since moved on, they’re probably playing casinos and county fairs now. Actually, casinos and county fairs have better music 😅

Actually, casinos and county fairs have better music 😅 I remember when "Headstrong" came out, and even 12 year old me thought it sounded like generic garbage. I guess they're very desperate for any kind of attention. (Maybe Todd in the Shadows will give them a One Hit Wonderland episode, lol. Loved his takedowns of Alien Ant Farm and Crazy Town, and unlike Trapt, those two at least had their lone hits with almost-decent songs.) ------------------------------ This fanmade trailer ironically proves why Beavis & Butthead shouldn't come back.

Unlike Alien Ant Farm or Crazy Town, Trapt didn’t have anything to make them stand out. They were just a generic rock band with no charisma or uniqueness about them, at least the above acts had some sort of hook and uniqueness. I remember that Alien Ant Farm had the video which parodies Michael Jackson and another had Oompa Loompas, and Crazy Town’s video was weird with all the butterflies. But Trapt had no charisma or character at all, they were just a boring generic band.

Never heard of this Trapt myself.
As for B&B, leave them in the 90's, please. As I said, the 2011 revival failed, which is a clear indication that the audience has moved on.

For those who’ve forgotten these losers, this is their one hit:

But Trapt had no charisma or character at all, they were just a boring generic band. Alien Ant Farm and Crazy Town at least had the good sense to take things from more talented artists. The former covered a MJ classic, while the latter swiped a riff from RHCP. The rest of their respective catalogs were bleh edgy white boy crap (as Todd showed in his reviews), but they were able to briefly have enough fun to score decent one-hit wonders. Trapt, on the other hand, were just generic nu metal garbage. Even if you genuinely loved that stuff, your angry white boy needs were already served better by Korn, Linkin Park, and even Bizkit. Nothing about Trapt stands out. As for B&B, leave them in the 90's, please. As I said, the 2011 revival failed, which is a clear indication that the audience has moved on.
While I think the "SJWs would hate Beavis & Butthead" meme is more right-wing strawman than reality (this feminist has never once found the show offensive), I do worry about how this show will be "updated" to serve a TV landscape that is obsessed with looking "woke" and cashing in on #MeToo/#BLM. Will someone get racebent? Will we get a new Ethnic Scrappy added to the cast?

Another reason to leave it alone. No one wants this.

I agree about Beavis and Butthead, the whole point is that they’re so stupid they can’t do anything right. How are they supposed to be political if they can barely read and can’t even fry burgers? They’re going to accidentally say something offensive and the show gets into trouble, the whole idea of the show is that they’re both very stupid and oblivious. I was never offended by the show since they were so stupid, there’s episodes where they harass women and they’re obsessed with sex but I never got the idea that they were misogynistic, they were just dumb and clueless about interacting with women.

Hey, MTV, the 90's are over. They've been over for more than twenty years now. Get a clue.

Exactly. You're supposed to be laughing at them, not with them. Their obsession with "getting chicks" and "scoring" was intentionally portrayed as being pathetic. That's why their attempts at picking up women always ended in failure (and occasionally, at least one of them getting their ass kicked). They were supposed to be the archetypal dumb white teenage boys who didn't care about anything besides loud rock music, boobs, and explosions. The show was a satire of the "coveted" young white male demographic that so much media chased after in the 80s and 90s. Of course, that's exactly why a B&B reboot wouldn't work today. Our culture has changed a lot since the 90s. Media doesn't really have the same laser-obsession with the young white male demo that it once did. Gen Z is more diverse, more interested in social justice, and less interested in rock music than Gen X was.

Which is why this will fail. Of course, MTV doesn't seem to have a clue, even though they have the failed 2011 reboot to learn from.

I don't.
Seriously, was there a fan demand to have these clowns back that I didn't know about?
