Trinity Notes:
When writing the opening episode, I did a bit more with the opening flashback. I changed it so Mary and Missouri knew each other, after all Mary was a hunter before she gave it up and married John, and in S12, we saw she was still hunting when Dean was 2, and was tying up loose ends on hunts. So why not have her have history with other hunters. So I had Missouri knowing Mary, and other hunters show up in the flashbacks too.
I also have included Charlie as a college friend of Sam's who is with Sam and Jessica at the party. This can set up her calling Sam when the shapeshiter frames someone, why use a random college friend of Sam's that we'll never see again. I think this fits for how we can bring her into the story, without needing to use S7 storylines, an bring her back when we want later.
Melinda Halliwell gave some wonderful suggestions, with us showing John's hunting friends Caleb and Pastor Jim or anyone else a couple of times before Meg killed them either at the Roadhouse or hunting with John. I liked the suggestion with meeting Jim Murphy, could've occured after Mary died with his church being in Lawrence although John didn't believe in religion till after the fire in Sam's nursery happened actually and Jim could've been who taught John how to make holy water using a rosary blessing that was latin which he done during 'Salvation'.
I'm going to include parts in the press release for the first episode, while of course, saving all the stories they had ith past hunts and talking about it, in other episodes. Pastor Jim was mentioned in the flashback of 'Something Wicked' looking after Sam and Dean, while John was off hunting, which could have been with Caleb, Bobby, Ellen etc. that episode could show a bit more with them.

Mary Winchester is lying in bed when she hears Sam crying on the babyphone. Mary goes to investigate and sees someone standing over Sam's cot. She assumes it's her husband, John. However, she sees the lamp flickering and goes downstairs and realizes John is actually sleeping in his chair by the TV, she runs back to Sam's room. John Winchester is awoken by her scream and runs to Sam's bedroom, but the baby is alone. Blood spatters from above on his hand and Mr. Winchester looks up to see his wife pinned to the ceiling by some unknown entity. Her body bursts into flames and the horrified father grabs Sam and gives him to Dean. He orders Dean to take Sam outside as fast as he can, then rushes back to try to save his wife. He's too late, however, and the flames completely consume the room, forcing him to flee the house. Sam's room explodes moments later.
The next morning, a woman named Missouri Moseley (Loretta Devine) picks up the paper and sees the death of Mary Wincester in a house fire, and gets emotional having known this woman. She picks up the phone, and calls her friend Ellen Harvelle (Samanatha Fernes) at Harvelle'e Roadhouse about the housefire death, telling her it's the sixth house fire death in the past year. Ellen tells her husband Bill Harvelle (TBD) who is drinking with Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) about this.
After Mary's funeral, John goes to confession and admits, he doesn't believe in religion but since his wife was killed in a fire in his son's nursery, he is feeling differently now. Later he meets the Pastor of the church, who introduces himself as Jim Murphy (Richard Sali) he tells John that he understands, and is here for him whenever he needs to talk.
A few weeks later, John is still so torn up for answers to Mary's death, and hasn't been to work in weeks and has left Sam and Dean in the care of their aunt and uncle. On, Friday, December 9, John goes out to a bar, hustling his way through a few games of pool in order to get a little extra money, until he gets into a fight with a man. The fight is broken up by Missouri who tells John that she is a psychic. He doesn't believe her until she mentions she knew Mary and then he starts to listen.
A week later on December 17, he visits Missouri in her trailer and she reveals the truth to him - there is evil in the world, and that is what killed Mary. John asks how she knew Mary, after she admitted this at the bar. She tells John that Mary was a hunter like herself and knew of the truth about the evil in this world. this news shocks John, who had no idea. Missouri, tells John she must have gave up the life when she married John. But, the news of her death is what prompted her to come to town. Admitting, as a hunter herself she too was from Lawrence, but has since been on the road hunting and hasn't been back in Lawence in seven years. John asks Missouri if she has a family herself, and nods, telling him she has a son named James, who is around his son Dean's age, and a husband.
Missouri tells him that she can help him to find out exactly what happened, but it will take a sacrifice from him. She needs a part of him, so with pliers in her hand, she removes one of his fingernails. They sit together and Missouri begins to see some visions: a blue door, a weather vane, a water tower, a street sign and, eventually, two words written on a wall - "WE'RE COMING".
Believing it to be a warning, Missouri and John follow the signs from the vision and arrive at the house. They can hear a faint child's voice coming from inside the house. Following the sounds, they enter the basement, and can smell blood all over the floor. When they find the source of the voice, it is just a toy. Confused, they turn around and discover the message from the vision, written in blood on the wall. Except what Missouri saw in her vision was only part of the message. It now says "WE'RE COMING FOR THE CHILDREN".
Fearing it was all a diversion to get to Dean and Sam, John drives back to his sister and brother in law's house, where the boys are sleeping. Horrified, he walks in to find blood everywhere and the remains of them dead. He dashes upstairs to the boys, finding them safe and sound. Missouri tells John that he needs to take the boys and leave immediately but before he goes, one last person he should see. She hands him a demonic looking tooth she found in the remains. It belonged to whatever killed Mary and Missouri believes that it will help John find it. She hands John a card to a very talented hunter, who also is a Pastor, and can help John. John, having already meet Pastor Jim at his church a few weeks ago.
John goes to visit Pastor Jim and shows him the fang that Missouri recovered. Jim is pleased John finally is opening up, telling him he is a hunter, and that he and Missouri and other hunters like him can help him. Jim identifies the fang as belonging to a Black Shuck - an oversized breed of Hellhound. Black Shucks are known to occupy crypts and empty graveyards. He tells him that the last report he read about a Black Shuck sighting was a few months ago in Eureka, California.
Missouri arrives, and is very happy to see how well John is handling the news of the supernatural world, and all John wants to do is see Mary again and hunt and find who killed her. Missouri tells John they can perform a ritual to try and help him get some answers.
To begin the ritual, Jim has to sacrifice some of his own blood and tells John to keep his eyes on the figure of Jesus upon the cross. Missouri holds John's hand, to try and use her a psychic ability to provide clues to John about Mary's killer. As she continues, John sees Mary, floating above him. They kiss, both of them unwilling to let go, until the form of Mary distorts into the same hellhound they saw before. The connection is broken - Jim suggests that somehow, the hellhound must have invaded the spirit plane and locked on to Mary in order to get to John.
John tells them that Mary tried to give him a message, telling him to "look once more." John studies the hellhounds tooth and notices four numbers on it - 1 1 2 7. John mentions that 11:27 was the exact time that Mary died, but they wonder about the placement of the numbers. The way they are written looks more like co-ordinates. John wonders where the lead to, and whether the numbers are a coincidence. Black Shucks are known to occupy crypts and empty graveyards. Jim tells him that the last report he read about a Black Shuck sighting was a few months ago in Eureka, California.
As John prepares to leave for Eureka for his first hunt, Jim gives him a blank journal. He encourages him to record everything he sees. He tells John he'll take John under his wing, and shows him the ins and outs of hunting.
John gets into the Impala, with young Sam and Dean and hits the road.
