Daniel Elkins
Character Stats First Episode: "Dead Man's Blood" (Season One) Last Episode: "The Life and Death of Daniel Elkins" (Season One) First Mentioned: "The Hunt Has Begun" (Season One) Species: Human Status: Deceased (killed by Vampires) Occupation: Hunter Family: Unnamed Wife (deceased), Unnamed son (deceased), Penelope (daughter), Valerie (granddaughter), Unnamed son-in-law (deceased) Portrayed by: Terence Kelly (old) / Troy Anthony (young) Character History
Early Life
Daniel Elkins was a very talented and respected hunter in the community. When his wife and son were killed in the 1960s by a La Mala Hora it set a curse on his family where it would continue to kill or make people in his family die or go insane, the experience is what set him on the path to become a hunter.
He had a falling out with his only surviving daughter who ended up going to live with her aunt and uncle.
Daniel trained and mentored new hunters. At some point in time he crossed paths with other hunters such as Bobby Singer, Ellen Harvelle, Bill Harvelle, Jim Murphy and Missouri Moseley.
While on a hunt in presumably the 70s, It was Daniel who encouraged Bill to consider marrying Ellen, saying she'd make a great wife for him.
At some point in his hunting life, Daniel killed Luther's family but failed to eliminate Luther himself or Kate.
1983
When John Winchester first became a hunter, he was told by Jim and Missouri to visit Daniel Elkins who agreed to take John under his wing, and show him the ins and outs of hunting.
1984
As seen in flashbacks during "The Life and Death of Daniel Elkins" Daniel continued to train John and taught him different hunting techniques. It was Daniel who first introduced and took The Winchesters to visit the Harvelle's Roadhouse for the first time.
On one of John's first hunts, Daniel and John were hunting with another hunter named Ichi in Baldwin Pass. John's skills as a hunter in action greatly impressed Daniel. But the hunt ended in tragedy when Ichi was killed, and a shapeshifter took his form.
Daniel made contact with his daughter Penelope, to try and warn her of the La Mala Hora curse but she refused to listen.
When Daniel returned to the Roadhouse with John, the two fought off the shapeshifter and John finished it off, but not without Dean seeing him.
Daniel listened as John expressed how much he hoped to keep monsters and demons a secret from Dean. Daniel confesses to John that he hopes he will never give up on Sam and Dean, and admits that hunting has cost him everything.
At some unknown point Daniel and John parted ways and hadn't spoken since, even until his death.
1996
As seen in flashbacks during "The Life and Death of Daniel Elkins" When the La Mala Hora curse strikes again and sends Penelope's husband insane. Daniel tries again to warn her, but his efforts fail, and this would be the last time he ever made contact with his daughter, and would turn into his biggest regret, which he writes about in his hunters journal.
1996-2006
At some point after this, Daniel apparently stopped actively hunting and took on a more research-based role. He also may have become an alcoholic.
Death
in "Dead Man's Blood" Years later in, In Colorado, Daniel writes in his journal, drinking in a bar when he is attacked by vampires and To defend himself, Daniel attempts to load the Colt. However, after a struggle he is murdered and the Colt is stolen.
Word of his death soon spread, and soon the hunting community heard about his death.
His death draws out Sam and Dean Winchester as well as Bobby Singer and Ellen Harvelle, who all come together to investigate his death. So they go investigate the cabin, and Sam finds a drop box location. At the drop box, they are reunited with John and Caleb, as John reads the letter Daniel addressed to him. In this letter, John finds out that Daniel had the Colt. Together the group avenged Daniel's death and got the Colt back.
Legacy
Soon after a hunters wake occurred in his honour at the Roadhouse, where many hunters came together to pay their respects and told old stories about Daniel.
John soon reads in his journal about an unsolved case Daniel had, which prompts John, Bobby and Jim and later Dean, Sam and Missouri who came together to close the unsolved case with the La Mala Hora curse on his family. Penelope and Valerie are saved, and they are finally able to bring closure for his daughter Penelope who takes Daniel's journal with her after the case is closed.

Early Life Jody was a resident of Sioux Falls. She was eventually promoted to the rank of Sheriff. She works at the police station alongside friend Donna Hanscum.
Either before or after this, Jody met and married a man named Sean, and together they had a son named Owen.
At some point, Jody developed a history with Bobby Singer whom she typically regarded as a troublemaker and a drunk before the events of the series.
Season One
In 'A Very Supernatural Halloween' - Jody is first introduced while receiving an alert about a murder at a Halloween party murder which Dean, Sam, Jo and Ash attended. She called her husband Sean who is out Trick or Treating with their son Owen that she'll be late tonight working. Overhearing Jody, Ellen contacted Jo to be safe, and she and Bobby put their heads together to find a way to stall Jody.
Jody arrived at the house, and couldn't get inside. A hunter sent by Bobby tries to stall her, but she eventually catches on. Informing the hunter and that she knows Bobby by way of "an ass-full of 'drunk and disorderliness' and wonders how his wife Ellen puts up with him, and makes it clear that whatever they're planning is hereby ended.
The Winchesters, Jo and Ash complete their case, and get out of the house just as Jody and her back-up storm the house.
In "When The Hunter Becomes The Hunted" When Donna's brother is missing, Donna tells Jody about her concerns over it. Jody agreed that its only been a little over 24 hours and he could come back wherever he went. Later at the Sioux Falls Police Station, Jody gets concerned when Donna hasn't called in yet over her investigations. But an officer, told her about a call she made earlier, with someone matching Dean description. He mentioned the man was looking for a missing person making Jody think what happened to Donna's brother might be a thing actually.
Jody goes to investigate finding Donna's car, arriving later at the farmhouse barn, Jody announced herself gun outstretched telling Pa and Dodger to put their hands over their heads and kneel on the ground whilst she arrests them both. But Dodger got the best of her and threw Jody down preparing to shoot her.
The Winchesters manage to rescue Jody and Donna got justice for her brothers murder. Donna mentioned the brothers will have to make a statement down the station which the boys decline. Jody asked why with Sam and Dean commenting they wouldn't know making her more suspicious about them as they leave. This case left Ellen, Bobby, Sam and Dean knowing they'll have to keep a closer eye on Jody, and make sure she doesn't find out anything which both parties agree on at the end.
At some point between this episode and the second season Owen died of unknown causes when he was just a boy, leaving Jody devastated.
Season Two
Jody is out of town at the beginning of the second season coping with the loss of Owen with Donna accompanying her.
In "What's Dead Should Stay Dead (Part 1 and 2)" - Jody returned from her personal leave by the time of this episode. Jody runs into Ellen and Jo in a diner working a case, and inquires about what they are doing with with Digger, who chimes "They're doing their job. They believe me." Jody doesn't buy it one bit, and tells them to go and no ruin this investigation, thinking that Bobby put them up to this. Ellen and Jo accept her acknowledge her authority and leave.
Later, Ellen and Jo are busted by Jody and Donna both responding to the 9-1-1 call and ordered to put their hands up. At the station, Bobby calmly convincers Jody to let Ellen and Jo go. Donna told Bobby that Jody had been acting so strange lately, and ever since her son Owen died, has been sad, but this past week, she has been acting so odd, and walks off.
It is later revealed that her own son had come back as a zombie, which is the reason she is not taking action on this matter. Then her son starts to get sick and she is very worried. But when she walks back into the room, she finds her husband dead, and her son eating him. As she backs away, Sam comes in and saves her. He gets her out, and she tries to go back and save her husband, but Sam tells her that her husband is already dead. Sam goes in and shoots her son.
Afterward, she teams up with the Winchesters, Harvelle's and Bobby and gets the town ready for the zombie attack.
After the attack, Ellen, Sam and Dean have the massive funeral pyre in the cemetery prepared for all the victims including Owen and Sean Mills. John and Jody arrived and reported that there are no more zombies to be found. Jody says the townspeople are traumatized and the few who have tried to alert the media have not been taken seriously. Ellen tells Jody she understands, she lost her husband, and that destroyed her, and she knows how hard it is, and she is here for her if she needs to talk.
In "The Unusual Suspects" John contacted Jody to come to Maryland to help him try and help Diana adjust to learning about the supernatural world. Jody bonds with John about losing her husband and son, and she admitted that she is digging her head into work to cope. John shared a story with her, about losing Mary. Jody appreciated hearing the story, and feels like knowing the truth and having someone to talk to about it helps, and she hopes she can help Diana with it too.
Later, after the case with Diana is over. Jody offered to buy Diana a coffee, and Diana agrees telling her she'd that like that and she's happy to know there is someone else like her out there who knows the truth that is also part of the law. The two joked that they should start some kind of club for law enforcements who knows the truth about what's out there.
In "Hunted" Jody helped Ellen and Ash learn the identify of the hunter spy who told Gordan about Sam.
In "Nightshifter" Jody was contacted by John about finding Ava, with no leads, and also told them about the female hunter spy who alerted Gordan about Sam's whereabouts.
In "Born Under a Bad Sign" When Sam went missing Jody stopped by the Roadhouse telling Bobby and Ellen, that she would continue to use her resources to help find him.
In "Tall Tales" John told Sam and Dean about Asa Fox, a guy he hasn't meet, but Jody knows who stopped in town a while back.
In "The Spirit of Vegas" Jody hadn't found any leads on The Professor following his encounter with Charlie since leaving Minnesota who is currently with Missouri learning more of the ropes of being a hunter.
Jody called and John about a possible case with three missing in Hartford and a witness saw the suspect lift an SUV with their bare hands. John agrees to go help Jody, with Bobby's help.
Jody tells them about the case and brings in the only witness who describes a strange blue light after the truck the victim was hiding under was pushed over. Later, after Bobby goes with Suzy Lee to her apartment, Jody works with John on the case, figuring out that the people were virgins who broke their chastity promise. When Bobby doesn't answer the phone, John and Jody rush to Suzy's apartment to discover it a mess and the two gone.
Vesta explains she posed as a Christian to attract virgins, and when Jody tries to stab her with the blood-stained oak stake, Vesta slams it into Jody's chest. John awakens, wrestling Vesta away, but when she tries to eat him she recoils, saying John is so physically damaged he shouldn't even be alive. John jokes, talk to him in five years. Jody pulls out the stake and kills Vesta, just as Bobby manages to unbolt the sewer lid from the inside and climb out.
Later Jody is getting to leave with her arm in a sling, and John voices his concern about his deal, which Jody wanted to clear up when he mentioned five years. Bobby waves it off stating they’ll figure a way to help John out.
In "The Devils Gate (Part 1)" Jody told John over the phone that other people around Sam's age have also gone missing recently although the police haven't done anything about that because of the spaced out timing's and non connections between each person's obviously. Andy Gallagher, Lily Baker, Jake, and Ava Wilson's name's pop up who John recognizes.
Jody says she'll try and use whatever resources the police has but admits it'll be hard doing so without them getting suspicious of anything. She'll also ask around the hunting community who she's become accustomed with since starting to hunt herself occasionally seeing if anyone there's seen or heard anything.
Donna walks by enquiring who Jody's talking with. Her colleague replies just a lead on a case. The cop looks at her suspiciously then walks off subsequent. Jody mentions Donna's another person they'll have to be careful off and thinks it won't be long before she finds out the truth herself. John says they'll have to cross that bridge whatever happens and thanks Jody before hanging up telling the others afterwards.
Later, Jody provided John word she got from another hunter of suspicious omens being sighted around Cold Oak South Dakota which could be where Sam and the missing people might be but isn't sure without further investigation of course. John recognizing the bell mentions Jody's right about the town explaining what the town is to her and Dean. This information helped John find Sam.
In "The Devils Gate (Part 2)" To be written....
