Qualifiers from semi-final 1 of last night's contest in Liverpool we're announced as follows.
๐ญ๐ท Croatia | Let 3 - Mama ล ฤ! (Second Half).
๐ฒ๐ฉ Moldova | Pasha Parfeni - Soarele ลi Luna (Second Half).
๐จ๐ญ Switzerland | Remo Forrer - Watergun (First Half).
๐ซ๐ฎ Finland | Kรครคrijรค - Cha Cha Cha (First Half).
๐จ๐ฟ Czechia | Vesna - My Sister's Crown (Second Half).
๐ฎ๐ฑ Israel | Noa Kirel - Unicorn (Second Half).
๐ต๐น Portugal | Mimicat - Ai Coraรงรฃo (First Half).
๐ธ๐ช Sweden | Loreen - Tattoo (First Half).
๐ท๐ธ Serbia | Luke Black - Samo Mi Se Spava (First Half).
๐ณ๐ด Norway | Alessandra - Queen of Kings (Second Half).
Non-qualifiers that didn't make it unfortunately were.
๐ฒ๐น Malta | The Busker - Dance (Our Own Party).
๐ฑ๐ป Latvia | Sudden Lights - Aijฤ.
๐ฎ๐ช Ireland | Wild Youth - We Are One.
๐ฆ๐ฟ Azerbaijan | TuralTuranX - Tell Me More.
๐ณ๐ฑ Netherlands | Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper - Burning Daylight.
As expected the predicted countries most people went for will perform in the grand final although I was pleasantly surprised Switzerland got through over Latvia or Malta being an anti-war song as usually, they rely on jury votes as well but Sacha Jean Baptiste who planned the staging obviously knew the semi would be televote only and so made sure the performance was tailored to that then.
Remo had good vocals and the dancing he did helped also.
I loved Luke Black's reaction when Serbia was announced. The man looked so shocked because he thought his country wouldn't qualify when they hadn't been told if they'd had yet.
Personally, I would've swapped Croatia with Lativa, Malta, or the Netherlands because those were better songs but then Croatia's entry was the madcap type made for Eurovision so I see why that got in plus the first semi was stronger than the second meaning it was known some quality acts wouldn't progress on unfortunately.
The typos with the first and second half are where each country is placed in the grand final concerning running order which from the looks of it is some of the stronger entries, especially the two winning favorites Finland and Sweden making them all cancel each other so it'll be interesting seeing how that affects results come Saturday which'll help the UK also somewhat being the country to perform naturally.

Qualifiers from semi-final 2 which took place last night in Liverpool are as follows. Obvious shock for me was Albania and Poland getting through who were both NQs with me than Georgia and Iceland but then I see why those happened naturally. Albania's staging was minimal but the inclusion of Albina's family and the intimate setting probably helped that get in whilst with Poland even though Blanka's vocals were not as good as Georgia's and Iceland's ones she did get a lot of diaspora votes I.e. Polish people who live in the UK, Ukraine, and Lithuania going for that in a televote only semi whereas Georgia and Iceland relied on jury votes which sadly didn't happen. Further problems that hampered Iceland and Georgia were minimal staging and with Georgia, quite a few more being staging not like the music video with back-in dancers who weren't there. No wind machine or costume with png floppy sleeves as in the music video then. Iru also sang on just one level (head voice) and not a mixture of that and chest voice. The lyrics were in English but all you could hear was gibberish which may put people off not understanding what was being sung. People's views on social media and YouTube have already been divided on the above subject with many saying Poland shouldn't have gotten through and others stating why Iceland and Georgia didn't of course. Other than that my two top performances of the night were from Austria and Australia who closed the show with a banging tune. Running order for Saturday was announced later on which are below. Obvious point from this is a fan favorite will open the show which could damage it's chances result wise like Czech Republic last year who got low televote scores and all the stronger entries being in the first half canceling one another out helping lower predicted songs in the second half doing better results wise which will help them overall. Based off their dress rehearsal video from yesterday. The UK's chances have dropped significantly because Mae can't sing live whereas, in the music video, she has backing vocals and autotune to help. She has been put on vocal rest till the Jury show today but some fans reckon there won't be much improvement on that actually. Tap management should make sure whoever they select beforehand can sing good live like Sam Ryder did.

When we start this late, maybe there's a chance - for a better result.

Albania has produced some great singers, like Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Bebe (real name, Bleta) Rexha, and, of course, Gjon Muharremaj.
Just saying.

Yes they have although Rita Ora's performance in the semi-final 1 interval wasn't as good as the drag act that was on yesterday evening in my opinion
That was a lot better I thought.
Tomorrow there will be many past Ukrainian Eurovision artists who will perform in the flag parade as well as UK artists in the interval like Sam Ryder who represented last year of course.

Former Eurovision participants Luxembourg will return to the competition in 2024.
Winning 5 times previous the country hasn't completed since 1993.
This news was nice to hear as it's been speculated for several years whether Luxembourg would come back or not.
Of course, I don't remember Luxembourg in Eurovision, especially from the 80s as I was under 10 and only started watching really from the 90s then.
I do wonder when they compete if they'll sing in French which was done prior or this time English and whether their artist will either be from Luxembourg or someone outside the duchy itself being a small country overall.

Yeah, if I remember right Luxembourg also won some time, in the 1970ies and the main language was French. But no guarantee here.

With the grand final finished, the winner this evening was Sweden scoring 583 points.
Loreen's win means Sweden now equals Ireland's 7-title record and only other country to have a twice-winning artist discounting Johnny Logan's writing credit.
Televote favorite Finland finished second with 526 points and Israel third with 362.
Italy was only 12 points behind with 350 points.
Performance highlights were Finland, Australia, Belgium, and Israel which people in the arena went nuts for obviously.
The UK placed 25th in front of the last country Germany. (Sorry Jana)
I see why we did poorly because Mae's vocals weren't on par with her music video which had backing vocal help and auto-tuning.
To get back up to scratch Tap Management will need to make sure whoever they choose can sing live before dropping a call.
Televote shocked me tonight with a lot of countries receiving lower points than they deserved like Slovenia, Portugal, and Serbia which wasn't good and I'm sure they'll be a backlash to Loreen winning as well with some people touting that too predictable.
Numerous times Cha, cha, cha (Finland) was chanted in the arena whilst the hosts took jury votes earlier on.

I didn't watch it but I read some. But well, it goes on. We need definitely a new strategy here. *sighs*
Congrats to Sweden!!

Oh yes congrats to Sweden but well done for Germany taking a different approach this year I.e. a rock song of course.
I don't think they ever did one in my time of watching Eurovision unless I was too young then but it does beg the question what do certain countries have to do to either try and win or get a good result if they don't stand a chance against a powerhouse like Sweden themselves?
As soon as Mae's dress rehearsal clip was released where her vocals weren't good bookies dropped the UK last in the odds which they were nearly correct on obviously.
I felt sorry for Graham and Hannah when they were announcing the results and people were chanting cha, cha, cha over the top of them. I get you to have a favorite song you wanna win but don't be rude and interrupt the presenters on stage though. There just doing a job after all.
