Has it really been twenty years now since this show first came on?
Where the heck did the last two decades go!?

Don't you miss the days when Archie Comics properties were adapted into quirky sitcoms and not angsty PLL ripoffs? The first three seasons were the best of Sabrina and are my favorites. Season 4 was the show's low point, while the last three seasons are passable -- better than Season 4, but not as good as Seasons 1-3. Luckily, most of Season 4's plot points (Dreama, Brad the witch hunter, the Aunts' clock shop) were immediately dropped and never brought up again, so you could get away with skipping straight from Season 3 to Season 5. The lone relevant bit from Season 4, Sabrina and Harvey's breakup, was covered at the start of Season 5.

Ugh, Rubbishdale. How in the dead gods of Krypton did that managed to get a second season, I have no idea.
I actually came into the show at the start of Season Five, the WB era. So I was not aware of the characters who were no longer on the show (and since I was on dial-up at that time, looking them up would be a chore).
Of course, Harvey came back in Season Six and Seven.
Season Seven saw Sabrina move back into her house, bringing her friends Morgan and Roxy along. That was the last season, which ended with Sabrina and Harvey riding off together. A nice happy ending.
Another departure from the comic. In the show, Harvey was brought into the secret of Sabrina being a witch, something the comic never did.

Yeah, I know you came into the show late, so you favor the last three seasons.
As for me, I grew up watching the early seasons back in the late 90s, so they're pretty dear to me. Always loved seeing Sabrina get revenge on Libby, along with Salem and the Aunts concocting new schemes of their own.

I read somewhere that both actors who played the aunts left when the writers sent Sabrina to college because they felt that there was no place for them on the show anymore.
And then the writers go and move Sabrina back home for the last season. I don't think they ever explained that. Sabrina (with Roxy and Morgan) was just there, back in the house.

I read somewhere that both actors who played the aunts left when the writers sent Sabrina to college because they felt that there was no place for them on the show anymore. The Aunts actually stayed on for Seasons 5 and 6, although their roles were increasingly downplayed. The WB wanted Sabrina to be more of a teen/young adult-focused show rather than the family sitcom it was back in the ABC days. And then the writers go and move Sabrina back home for the last season. I don't think they ever explained that. Sabrina (with Roxy and Morgan) was just there, back in the house. Budget cuts. According to this site, the show's budget was slashed in the final season: The show's budget was cut considerably for this season. Due to this: Trevor Lissauer does not return as Miles Goodman, noticably less magic is used and certain sets are converted; therefore some locations (such as the Coffee House) are sacrificed for new ones. Remember that Season 7 aired in 2002-03, right as the WB's fortunes started to take a downward turn. It's probably a blessing that Sabrina ended when it did.

There's that elephant in the room again, the budget. Of course, budget issues would sink another witch based show, a few years later.
I've always wondered why both Josh and Miles just vanished like that. They were a major part of the show, and then, boom, both gone with nary a mention as to why they were, as TV Tropes would say, Put On A Bus. I guess this answers that question.
Clearly, they wanted to keep the house set, so I guess the only answer would be to move Sabrina back home, and, since the actors who played her aunts were now gone, they moved Roxy and Morgan into the house with her.
You're right that Sabrina was right to wrap up when it did. The collapse of the WB was only just three years away.

Actually, that same site said that Josh vanished because his actor, David Lascher, wanted to leave. (And, that the Aaron storyline was originally intended for Josh.) But, yeah, most of the changes that happened in the final season were due to the shrinking budget.

Now that would have been a good storyline. Two established male characters, Harvey and Josh, competing for Sabrina's heart. Of course, I get the feeling that the writers always intended that Sabrina would choose Harvey in the end.
Still, it would have had more of an impact had it been Josh whom Sabrina left, instead of Aaron (whom most fans probably didn't really care about).
At least it didn't cripple the show, like it would Charmed a few years later. Of course, Sabrina, being a sitcom, probably cost a lot less money to make.
Still, as you said, it was good that Sabrina ended when it did.

Yeah, it would've had a greater impact, especially when you remember that Josh helped drive Sabrina and Harvey apart back in Season 4. At the end of that season, Harvey had found out about Sabrina's secret and dumped her, forcing her to "choose" Josh by default. It would've come full circle to see Sabrina choose Harvey over Josh in Season 7, atoning for the love triangle storyline and ending that had upset many fans three seasons earlier.

Too bad that didn't happen. It would have been nice to see Harvey win Sabrina back. This Aaron guy didn't have the save impact, because he only showed up in the last season.
I don't remember if they ever explained why Sabrina, Roxy, and Morgan were all living at her house (in universe, I mean). They were all just there.

I recently this year rewatched Sabrina from the beginning and feel in love with it again. I have to admit I did enjoy the college years, but I only like season 5 and 6, season 7 is unwatchable and I don't plan on watching it again.
My favourite seasons are Season 2, 3 and 5.

I enjoyed the later seasons. I guess that's because that's when I came into the show.

WOW! So I'm not alone here in that. Awesome.
My favourite characters were Sabrina, Salem, Hilda, Zelda, Libby and Valarie.
I don't know why they didn't keep Libby and Valarie on until the end of high school. It was too weird they got removed in season 4. I always wished Libby had been brought back in the college seasons, and was Sabrina's roommate.

Apparently, there was a budget cut for the last season. That is why they moved Sabrina back into her house and moved Roxie and Morgan in with her.
I did like how it ended, with Sabrina and Harvey riding off together.
